ALTAF HUSSAIN, FOUNDER AND LEADER OF THE MQM MONITORS MINUTE TO MINUTE ACTIVITIES OF THE MQM RALLY IN PAKISTAN FROM LONDON OVER THE TELEPHONE

Mr Altaf Hussain, founder and leader of the MQM living in exile in London is monitoring minute to minute activities of MQM mass rally in Karachi over the telephone. The Hunger Strike and the peaceful public demonstration is being held against the Government policy of the "near-genocide" of the Mohajir nation and the unlawful arrests, torture in the Government custody of the members of the nation and party workers, rape and gang rape of Mohajir women and girls by the Law Enforcers and the Government sponsored and patronised terrorists.

Mr Hussain has been constantly in touch over the telephone from London with Deputy Convenor of the MQM Senator Aftab Ahmed Sheikh and the Parliamentary Leader in the Provincial Assembly of Sindh, Dr Farooq Sattar on the progress of the rally and the government’s strong arm tactics and blockades.

Mr Hussain advised Senator Aftab Ahmed Sheikh, Dr Farooq Sattar and the public to exercise restraints despite Government’s provocations, high handedness and atrocities. He asked the public to ensure that the rally is totally peaceful and democratic.

Moreover, Mr Altaf Hussain enquired the well being of the hunger strikers that included Dr Farooq Sattar, Member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh and the Parliamentary Leader, Mr Kanwar Khalid Yunus, Member of the National Assembly and other elders. He congratulated the hunger strikers.

Furthermore, the entire vicinity of the Karachi Press Club opposite which the MQM members are observing the hunger strike was echoed with the slogans and chants against the Government of Nawaz Sharif.

UNKNOWN ASSAILANTS STOPPED FIVE SUZUKI VANS AT BANARAS CHOWK IN WHICH THE WOMEN WERE TRAVELLING TO THE KARACHI PRESS CLUB TO JOIN THE MQM RALLY. THE UNKNOWN ASSAILANTS BRUTALLY TORTURED THE WOMEN AND FORCED THEM TO RETURN TO THEIR HOMES OR ELSE FACE DIRE CONSEQUENCES.
