MQM TO ORGANISE A RALLY IN KARACHI AT THE END OF THE FIRST PHASE OF PROTEST CAMPAIGN AGAINST THE GENOCIDE OF THE MOHAJIRS IN PAKISTAN

On 9 August 1999, at around 10 a.m., at the end of the first phase of the peaceful protest campaign, the MQM Co-ordination Committee has organised a protest rally to demonstrate in front of the Governor House in Sindh province of Pakistan. At the end of this first session, Mr. Altaf Hussain, Founder and Leader of the MQM, will address the public gathered at the MQM Hunger Strike Camp at the Karachi Press Club. After the address, this rally would begin from the MQM Hunger Strike Camp at the Karachi Press Club at 10 a.m., and would proceed towards the Governor House. All the Members of the MQM Co-ordination Committee, Senators, Members of National Assembly of Pakistan and Members of Provincial Assembly of Sindh belonging to the MQM will lead this rally. MQM office bearers, workers and supporters will also participate in this rally. According to program the MQM leaders will present the protest note to the Governor Sindh.

It is to be recalled that MQM had organised a peaceful protest campaign nationally and internationally to protest against the genocide of the Mohajirs by the Government of Nawaz Sharif in Pakistan.
