ALTAF HUSSAIN APPEALS FOR DONATIONS FOR THE LAHORE PUBLIC MEETING

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has appealed to the people to people for donations for the holding of its public meeting in Lahore on 10th April at Qazzafi Stadium Road. He said that the MQM is a political party of the common people belonging to the poor and middle class and the expenses of the party have always been paid for by public donations. He said that there are no rich feudal lords and big businessmen who have no concern for the problems of the common people. He said that the MQM was making struggle for the establishment of a truly democratic system in the country and wants to empower the able and educated people for the poor and middle class segment of the society.
Mr Altaf Hussain said that keeping in view the limited resources of the party it is experiencing financial problems for bearing the expenses of such a big public meeting. He appealed to the people to donate generously according to their means and make the public meeting a success. He said that the meeting at Qazzafi Stadium Road will prove to be a watershed in the politics of the province and the country. ALTAF HUSSAIN DEPLORES EXPLOSIONS AT THE SHRINE OF HAZRAT SAKHI SARWAR

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has deplored the bomb blasts in the precincts of the Mazar of Hazrat Sakhi Sarwar in Dera Ghazi Khan and expressed profound grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of several devotees. Mr Altaf Hussain said that the terrorists have been targeting the mazars of the saints but regretted that the government did not take firm measures to provide security at the mazars. He said that the terrorists earlier carried out attacks on the mazars of Shaikh Ali Hijweri popularly known as Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh, Hazrat Baba Fareed Ganj Shakar, Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi and Hazrat Barri Imam and other holy personages and now explosions have been made at the mazar of Hazrat Sakhi Sarwar which is a great tragedy.

Mr Altaf Hussain declared that the elements that are targeting the mazars of the holy saints in the name of Islam and are responsible for the bloodbath of the guiltless Muslims have nothing to do with Islam and the Muslims. He said that the terrorists carrying out such devilish attacks are in fact the enemies of Islam and the humanity. He said that the Holy Quran does not give us a lesson to obliterate the followers of other faiths. It rather it gives lessons of “To you your religion” and “There is no compulsion in the religion”. He warned that the extremists that are working against these precepts of Islam are openly negating the commands of Allah and his Messenger. He expressed his condolences to the bereaved family members who have lost their loved-ones in the explosions and sympathized and prayed for the early recovery of the injured. He also expressed his sympathies to the gaddi nashin and others affiliated with the mazar.

 

MQM DELEGATION LEAVES FOR GARHI KHUDA BAKHSH

A delegation of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has left for Garhi Khuda Baksh in order to take part in the 32nd death anniversary of the founder of Pakistan Peoples Party and former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. The delegation comprises members of the Co-ordination Committee, provincial ministers and other office-bearers of the MQM. MQM DELEGATION MEETS REHMAN MALIK AND ABDUL HAFIZ SHAIKH

A three member delegation of Muttahida Quami Movement headed by Deputy Convener of the Co-ordination Committee Dr Farooq Sattar has had a meeting with Federal Ministers Rehman Malik and Abdul Hafiz Shaikh and informed them about the problems being faced by the common people after the recent increase in the prices of petroleum products. The meeting was held at the residence of Mr Rehman Malik in Islamabad on Sunday the 3rd April. MNAs Mr Wasim Akhter and Dr Abdul Qadir Khanzada were present comprised the MQM delegation besides Dr Farooq Sattar.

Dr Farooq Sattar stressed upon the federal ministers to review the increase in the prices of petroleum products and to provide immediate relief to the common people. He told them that the people were waiting for a positive action from the government in this regard. Mr Rehman Malik and Mr Abdul Hafiz Shaikh told Dr Farooq Sattar that the government is seriously considering the viewpoint of Mr Altaf Hussain on the issue of increase in the prices and the government will soon announce a decision after reviewing the prices of the petroleum products.

 

MQM CO-ORDINATION COMMITTEE VISITS QAZZAFI STADIUM ROAD

Members of the Co-ordination Committee Wasay Jalil, Iftakhar Randhawa, Saif Yar Khan and Salim Tajik visited the Qazzafi Stadium Road on Sunday the 3rd April to finalize arrangements about the public meeting that will be held in Lahore on 10th April. Office-bearers of the MQM Provincial Committee and Lahore Zone were also present on the occasion. Preparations for the public meeting in Lahore are in full swing.
