JAMAT-E-ISLAMI'S CONSPIRACY TO DISTURB KARACHI PEACE
MQM SENATORS HOLD PRESS CONFERENCE IN ISLAMABAD

Islamabad April 25(2500):- MQM Senators made a forceful appeal to the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan to order a through enquiry into the Kidnapping and murder of young Karachi Student Farhan Asif, asking them simultaneously to arrest the murders of the innocent workers of MQM Mr. Tariq Bandhani, Abdul Wahab, wing Islami Jamit Talba.

Addressing a press conference here Dr. Ali Muhammad Brohi and his colleagues in the Senate gave a chronological explanation of how the Islami Jamiat Talba and Jajamt-e-Islami had been involved in a sinister conspiracy to sabotatge the peace and tranquility of the country’s sport city, which the Musharra government and the Sindh administration have been trying to restore to attract foreign investment and rebuild the economy.

They listed a series of events in support of their arguments, explaining to journalists that law and order situation in Sindh has been showing remarkable improvement because of the efforts of MQM and list Muslim League partner in the coalition. The Province is well on way to progress, causing jealousy among its rivals. They are out to push back the arms of the clock so that the good work done by the Musharaf government is once again reversed. The student wing of MQM, the APMSO had chalked out a healthy prograne if extra curriculum activities in educational institutions of Karachi, the result of which was too vivid to ignore. Some extremist religious elements, however, did not like the idea and in order to damage APMSO, they reorganized thunder squad and resorted terrorism in the garb of Piety.

The following are the events involving IJT and Jamat-e-Islami, which gave a fair insight into their intentions to destroy the peaceful atmosphere in Karachi institutions.

In the month of February, Saqib Ghani a worker of the city college of APMSO was wounded by bullets. On 14^th February  the thunder squad of Jamat-e-Islami and its terrorists tortured Prof. Afzal Bukhari of S.M . Arts and commerce college in front of his teacher  colleagues and later on locked him in a staff room. He was freed by the police. On 17^th Febrary, 23 of the APMSO members were wounded in another attack by the thunder squad but the student wing of MQM showed tremendous tolerance in the face of grave provocation.

In the month of March IJT once again launched a series of attack on APMSO students in University of Karach, Islamia College wounding dozens of them. Extreme tolerance was demonstrated by APMSO again. On 10^th April the APMSO decided to organize a Mehfil—e-Zikar-e-Mustafa in Urdu University. This was a purely religious programe for which complete preparation had been made but the self styled champions of Islam not only sabotaged a religious Programe but in the doing so also vitiated the peaceful atmosphere of the said University. The APMSO, curbing its sentiments, put of the programe. On 16^th April the terrorist of Jamat-e-Islami not only tortured the APMSO member of Jinnah Science College but also fired upon them. The Jamat-e-Islami and its  student wing after failing to provoke its rivals resorted to a policy of and under  a conspiracy got one of its students, Farhan Asif killed and charged the apmso of assassinating them. The fact of the matter is that Mr. Farhan Asif was kidnapped on the night of 18^th April from an unknown place and after being tortured, his body was thrown in the Nullah of  SITE area. A slip was put in his pocked to show that the was victimized By APMSO. Police removed Farhan in critical condition of Abbasi  Shaheed hospital from where Jamat-e-Islami shifted him to some other hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Just like the criminal elements have been trying to raise “ Jiye Muhajir” slogan and putting blame on the MQM the past, Mr Farhan asif too was subjected to kidnapping and murder. The idea was to portray MQM and APMSO as a fascist organization, The Jamat-e-Islami not only spoiled the atmosphere but served a 72 hour notice on the government under a preplanned programme. On 19^th April Jamat-e-Islami terrorists attacked several institutions causing  injuries to dozens APMSO members and supporters  and the next day to youthful members of APMSO member, Shakir was kidnapped in front of teachers of shaman degree was taken to ship owner college where was subjected to worst kind of torture.

On 22^nd April two buses of route No. 8 were set on fire because these vechicles had remained on road on the 2^nd April Strike of MMA.

On 23^rd April former incharge   of Liaquaabad sector  Mr. Tariq Bandhani was killed in firing  at a time when he was carrying lunch for his two children to school. Prior to that on 16^th April Ex-Central Joint Secretary of APMSO Shahood Hashmi wa assassinated.

The MQM Senator reiterated their party’s commitment to non violence and told the journalists that despite being in the government they quietly lifted the soffins of their fallen comraded, showed extreme tolerance by the Jamat-e-Islami which instead of accepting its mistakes had launched a calculated campaign to defame MQM APMSO under a calculated Policy.

The Senators concluded by saying that if the Jamat-e-Islami really cared for peace in Karachi, it should forthwith stop all its violent activities and made it clear that the Jamat can never succeed in its designs to destroy the peace of Karachi its academic life.
