PAKISTAN AND FEUDAL SYSTEM CANNOT COEXIST -ALTAF HUSSAIN

Karachi – 9th April 2005 ..MQM Founder & Leader Mr Altaf Hussain has stated that Feudalism and Pakistan cannot coexist. It is time now that feudal system should be abolished otherwise Pakistan’s future will be very gloomy. Pakistan’s future will only be bright if feudal system is abolished in all its manifestations and forms. He was addressing a meeting of MQM Legal Aid Committee over the phone from London yesterday. He said that the two percent privileged class has ruled Pakistan since its inception, whereas the 98 percent poor and middleclass people of Pakistan have been deprived even of their basic rights. He said that the 21st Century is the Century of information technology, computers and knowledge resulting in a more progressive world; however, unfortunately, medieval feudal system is still prevalent in Pakistan and the poor farmers, peasants and the middleclass people are still enslaved by the feudals and waderas. He said that the Pakistani youth has come to the conclusion that until and unless feudal system is abolished from the country, Pakistan will not be on the path of prosperity and success. It is high time now to decide either to save Pakistan or the feudal system. If feudal system is saved then Pakistan’s future is gloomy and if feudal system is abolished then Pakistan future is very bright.

Mr Hussain said that MQM is the only party of Pakistan which has emerged from the poor and middleclass masses; has no wadera or feudal in its ranks and file and is the representative party of the middleclass. MQM is a peace loving political party and is against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.  MQM believes in religious tolerance, liberalism and moderation. MQM wants to provide equal rights to all without any discrimination regardless of their cast, colour, creed, sex, sect and even religion.

Mr Hussain informed the Members of MQM Legal Aid Committee that we are presenting the MQM’s Case worldwide; therefore, the lawyers of MQM Legal Aid Committee should also present the MQM’s Case wherever they go. He also advised them to visit the prisons and represent the oppressed that are deprived of justice, in the courts, and help them in acquiring justice and assist in their early release. He also advised them to take up the cases of those who have spent more time in the prison than their would be sentence – help them in their release and assist them in becoming an honourable citizen. He also advised them to take up similar cases of large number of women and children who are unnecessarily imprisoned. He said that justice should not only be done, but should manifestly and undoubtedly be seen to be done. He stressed upon the lawyers and members of MQM Legal Aid Committee to improve the communication and coordination among and continue to work themselves with dedication, enthusiasm and devotion.
