MQM WORKER ASFAHAN HAIDER SHOT DEAD BY UNKNOWN ARMED TERRORISTS IN KARACHI, PAKISTAN

London – 9 April 2002
On 9 April 2002, at around 4 p.m., unknown armed terrorists riding on a motorcycle, attacked a shop in Hyderi Market in North Nazimabad, Karachi, and murdered Asfahan Haider, former Member of MQM North Nazimabad Sector Committee.  According to first information received so far, Asfahan Haider was in his shop, when the two terrorists, one wearing a helmet and the other wearing a mask, approached him and opened indiscriminate fire upon him. As a result, Asfahan Haider was shot in the chest.  He was immediately taken to the hospital, however, he succumbed to his injuries.

PERSONAL DETAILS:
Asfahan Haider 37, son of Mujtaba Haider, was a resident of Block-G, Ali Daulat Square, Hyderi, North Nazimabad, Karachi.  He was also a former Member of MQM North Nazimabad Sector Committee.
