REPORTS OF ATROCITIES UPON MQM WORKERS AND SUPPORTERS BY NAWAZ SHARIF GOVERNMENT

22 April 1999

1. The personnel of Ferozabad Police Station raided the Branch of United Bank Limited of Mooti Mahal, Karachi, and arrested Mustafa 32. He is a worker of MQM Unit 64, Society Sector, Karachi.
   
2. The personnel of Bahadurabad Police Station raided the house of Rafiq Uddin and arrested him. Rafiq Uddin is a supporter of MQM and brother of Babar. Babar is a worker of MQM Unit 62, Society Sector, Karachi.
   
3. The personnel of Gulbhar Police Station, led by notorious DSP Ch. Aslam, raided the residence of Shahid son of Saeed Ahmed. In his absence they ransacked the house and abused his family members. Shahid is a worker of MQM Unit 57, P.I.B Sector, Karachi.

21 April 1999

1. The personnel of C.I.A Police raided the residence of Abdul Hammed Sheikh, and arrested him. Abdul Hammed Sheikh 31, son of Abdul Aziz is a worker of MQM Unit 186, Pak Colony Sector, Karachi.
   
2. At around 2:00 a.m., the personnel of Nazimabad Police Station raided the temporary residence of Moin and arrested him. Moin 30, son of Mohammad Younus is a worker of MQM Unit 57, P.I.B Sector, Karachi.
   
3. The personnel of Nazimabad Police Station raided the residence of Saqib and arrested him. Saqib 25, son of Ishaque is a worker of MQM Unit 57, P.I.B Sector, Karachi.

20 April 1999

At around 3:00 a.m., the personnel of Jamshed Quarter Police Station, raided the residence of Nasir, and arrested him. Nasir 25, son of Ghulam Sarwar, is a resident of Fl. No 25, Block No 9, Johar Square, Gulistane Johar, Karachi. He is a worker of MQM Unit Gulistane Johar, Karachi.

19 April 1999

1. At around 8:00 p.m., the Paramilitary Rangers arrested Mohammad Abbas from the street. Mohammad Abbas 30, son of Mohammad Yousuf is the brother of Mohammad Ashfaq who was murdered extra judicially. He is a worker of MQM Unit 159, Liaquatabad Sector, Karachi.
   
2. The personnel of Korangi Police Station raided the temporary residence of Imran Qureshi, and arrested him. Imran Qureshi 26, son of Niaz Qureshi is the resident of 36-G, Sharif Colony, Landhi, Karachi. He is a worker of MQM Unit 82, Landhi Sector, Karachi.
   
3. The personnel of New Karachi Police Station raided the house of Saeed and arrested him with three MQM workers of Unit 125, Sector Orangi Town. Those who were arrested are:

i- Yousuf.
ii- Dino.
iii- Habib.

18 April 1999

1. At around 3:00 p.m., heavy contingent of Nazimabad Police Station, led by notorious DSP Ch. Aslam, raided the residence of Iftikhar and arrested him. Iftikhar son of Mukhtar is a worker of MQM Unit 181, Sector Nazimabad, Karachi. He is being detained at the Nazimabad Police Station, where he is being subjected to most brutal torture. It is to be noted that his father Mukhtar who is a member of MQM Elder Committee was also arrested earlier.
   
2. The personnel of Nazimabad Police Station, led by notorious DSP Ch. Aslam, arrested Abdul Muneer 24, son of Abdul Sattar from the street. He is a worker of MQM Unit 188, Nazimabad Sector, Karachi.

16 April 1999

1. The personnel of Orangi Town Police Station raided the residence of Shakeel Akhtar. In his absence, they ransacked the house and misbehaved with his family members. Shakeel Akhtar son of Tauheed is a Member of MQM Orangi Town Sector Committee, Karachi.
   
2. The personnel of Jamshed Quarter Police Station raided the temporary residence of Shahid Hussain and arrested him. Shahid Hussain 27, son of Mohsin Ali Zaidi is a resident of A-236 Usmania Mohajir Colony, Karachi. He is a worker of MQM Unit 58, P.I.B Sector, Karachi.

14 April 1999

1. The personnel of C.I.A Police arrested Syed Mahmood Ali 21, son of Syed Ishrat Ali, resident of House No 570, 33-E Area Korangi, Karachi. He is a worker of MQM Korangi Sector, Karachi.
   
2. The personnel of Gulberg Police Station raided the residence of Mohammad Sohail, and arrested him. Mohammad Sohail 22, son of Mohammad Ayub, is a worker of MQM Unit 173, North Nazimabad Sector, Karachi.
   
3. The personnel of C.I.A Police raided the residence of an MQM worker Arshad Iqbal. In his absence they arrested his brother Shahid Iqbal 35, son of Rehmat Ali.

The personnel of Saeedabad Police Station raided the residence of Yousuf and arrested him. Yousuf, 26 son of Mustafa is a worker of MQM Unit 112, Baldia Town Sector, Karachi.

10 April 1999

1. The personnel of Baldia Town Police Station raided the house of Ismail Yousuf, and arrested him. He is a worker of MQM Unit 112, Baldia Town Sector, Karachi.
   
2. At around 2:00 a.m., the personnel of Hyderabad, B Section Police Station, led by ASI Iftikhar Khanzada, raided the residence of Anees Ur Rehman. In his absence they ransacked the house, and misbehaved with his family members. Anees Ur Rehman, son of Aziz Ur Rehman is the In-charge of MQM Unit 57, Sector O, Hyderabad Zone.
   
3. The personnel of Saeedabad Police Station raided the residence of under-mentioned MQM workers of Unit 112. In their absence, they ransacked their houses and misbehaved with family members.

2. The personnel of C.I.A Police arrested Nihal Ahmed Siddiqui from his office in Karachi. Nihal Ahmed Siddiqui 39, son of Abdul Samad Siddiqui is a resident of Shah Faisal Colony, Karachi. He is a worker of MQM Unit 106, Shah Faisal Colony Sector, Karachi.
   
3. At around 3:30 a.m., the personnel of C.I.A Police and Shahra-e- Faisal Police Station raided the house of Nadeem. In his absence, they arrested his younger brother Mohammad Afzal 19, son of Mohammad Yaqoob, resident of FL-5 Raza Square, Gulshan-e- Iqbal, Karachi. Nadeem is a worker of MQM Unit 66-B, Gulshan-e- Iqbal Sector, Karachi.

The personnel of Shah Faisal Police Station, led by SHO Jawed Abbas raided the residence of Shakeel Jafferi. In his absence, they ransacked the house, misbehaved with his family members. Shakeel Jafferi is a worker of MQM Unit 103, Shah Faisal Sector, Karachi.

1. The personnel of C.I.A Police, raided the temporary residence of Aslam Pervez, and arrested him. He is a worker of MQM Unit 109, Shah Faisal Sector, Karachi.
   
2. Heavy contingent of Liaquatabad Police Station intercepted a marriage procession bound for North Karachi, from New Karachi. They arrested Mohammad Imran, he was the bridegroom. Mohammad Imran 20, son of Mohammad Shafi, is a resident of Yousuf Goth, New Karachi, Karachi. He is a worker of MQM Unit 10, New Karachi Sector, Karachi.

1. The personnel of Orangi Town Police Station, led by SHO Haji Nadeem raided the temporary residence of Riaz and arrested him. He is a worker of MQM Medical Aid Committee.
   
2. The personnel of Azizabad Police Station raided the temporary residence of Kaleem Wajahat and arrested him. Kaleem 19, son of Syed Safdar Hussain is an office bearer of MQM Unit 173, North Nazimabad Sector, Karachi.

1. The personnel of Clifton Police Station and Para Military Rangers, raided the residence of Junaid Khalil Baig and arrested him. Junaid Khalil Baig 29, son of Khalil Baig is a resident of J/9 Park View Apartment, Gulshan-e- Iqbal, Karachi. He is a worker of MQM Unit 66-B, Gulshan-e- Iqbal Sector, Karachi.
   
2. At around 10:00 p.m., the personnel of Garden Police Station, raided the temporary residence of Zahoor Uddin and arrested him. Zahoor Uddin 34, son of Imam Uddin is a member of MQM Sukkur D Committee.
