MULTAN, Pakistan (AP) -- A disgruntled student shot and killed his college principal Friday after the principal refused his request to declare a holiday, police said.

Abdul Rehman Sungera, head of the Pakistan Muslim League student wing in Multan, wanted the Government Technical College to be closed to let people attend a Muslim League rally, police said.

The principal, Shahid Ameen, refused and was shot. So far no arrests have been made, but police said they were searching for the student.

The Pakistan Muslim League is the ruling party in Pakistan and it, like all Pakistani political parties, has student wings throughout the country.
