ALTAF CALLS FOR JUSTICE, RIGHTS FOR PAKHTOON FOLKS; ASKS TO STOP CALLING THEM AS TRAITORS
LONDON. April 16, 2018: MQM founding leader Mr. Altaf Hussain has said that the atrocities on tribal people at the hands of establishment should now be stopped and instead of holding the people of tribal areas as traitors, their grievances should be addressed and their just demands should be respectfully accepted.
He stated this while in conversation with eminent intellect Mr. Aimal Khattak son of eminent Pakhtoon nationalist leader late Ajmal Khattak and eminent blogger and intellect Ms. Ferhat Taj over telephone. The addressee updated Mr. Hussain about latest geo-political and law and order situation in Pakistan’s tribal areas. They informed him of unrest that has set in among the Pakhtoon tribes in tribal areas, threats and intimidations from corners in Pakistan’s institutions and discriminatory actions and demonic atrocities on Pakhtoons.
The MQM chief Mr. Hussain while deploring the overall sad situation in Pakistan’s tribal areas affecting the Pakhtoon folks said that Pakhtoon suffered most in war on terror and proxies fought in tribal areas. The military adventurism forced the Pakhtoon folks to leave their homes, businesses and lands and live a life of IDPs in their own country, while countless Pakhtoon youth are missing today and their families are wandering in their search from here and there,
He also said that he has reports on maltreatment and manhandling of ladies of Pakhtoons gone missing after they were kidnapped by state forces, at the check posts. It has become a routine of the armed forces personnel to humiliate them at check posts. This nefarious agenda of maligning, victimizing and eliminating the Pakhtoon should now be stopped immediately, he demanded.
Mr. Hussain demanded that Pakhtoon rights activists Manzoor Pashteen and others should not be declared and treated as traitors because they are simply raising their voices of concern over state atrocities without lawful basis and the state should stop oppressing their voices and struggle but should listen to them and resolve their concerns.
He said that all Pakhtoon men and women are as dear to him as his own brothers and sisters and all elderly Pakhthoons and children are ike his respected elders and children.
He assured them of continuing to raise his voice of concern on injustices and atrocities, suppression of rights of Pakhtoons.
Mr. Aimal and Ms. Taj thanked Mr. Hussain for his support to Pakhtoon folks.
