ASMA JAHANGIR’S DEATH AN IRREPARABLE, COLOSSAL LOSS OF OPPRESSED PEOPLE OF PAKISTAN: DR NADEEM EHSAN, QASIM ALI RAZA
LONDON. February 11, 2018: MQM Coordination Committee Convener Dr Nadeem Ehsan and Deputy Convener Mr. Qasim Ali Raza have in a joint statement expressed deep grief on death of Pakistan’s eminent lawyer, rights and social activist late Ms. Asma Jahangir. They said that late Ms. Jahangir was not an ordinary lawyer but she was a dynamic person whose entire life was dedicated for the defense of rights, supremacy of law and freedom of expression. She had opposed and challenged military dictators, struggled for the freedom and rights on streets and in court rooms. Her sudden departure to eternal abode has created a huge gap that would never be filled and the people of Pakistan have missed a very sound and strong defender of their rights.
They said that Ms. Jahangir’s death is a colossal loss to all communities and folks in Pakistan that are being oppressed and are facing state-sponsored atrocities.
The Convener and the Deputy Convener said that the entire MQM, all affiliates and founder and leader of the Movement Mr. Altaf Hussain have been saddened from her sudden death and while remembering her in prayers pay rich tribute to her for her unparallel services for the oppressed people.
They prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace and expressed complete solidarity with the believed family of late Ms. Jahangir.
LATE ACTOR QAZI WAJID: Meanwhile, the MQM Coordination Committee Convener and the Deputy Convener further said that the death of eminent TV and film actor, vocalist and stage performer late Qazi Wajid has saddened them. Late Wajid was an eminent performer and actor who spent his entire life as entertainer and had spread smiles on faces of the sad and the gloomy. His pieces of performances are a hallmark of highest talent and capabilities of a man. His death is a big big loss and won’t be filled ever. They prayed for the departed soul for his resting in eternal peace and expressed complete solidarity with the bereaved family.
