SECURITY AND LAW ENFORCEMENT FORCES HAVE CROSSED ALL LIMITS BY COMMITTING RAMPANT ATROCITIES: COORDINATION COMMITTEE
Unlawful detention of Senior Deputy Convener Prof. Dr Hassan Zafar Arif has exposed the security and law enforcement forces for their genocidal vendetta against Mohajir Nation
LONDON. December 9, 2017: Muttahidda Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Coordination Committee has condemned the state authorities and the law enforcement forces for unlawfully detaining the Senior Deputy Convener of the movement Mr. Prof. Dr Hassan Zafar Arif for over 24 hours.
The Committee said the unlawful detention was of the worst kind of state repression.
In its statement, it said security force’s personnel in plain clothes had kidnapped Prof. Arif from Qayyumabad area of Karachi at midnight and took him to an undisclosed location and detained him for over 24 hours in illegal custody without lawful charge.
It said that Prof. Arif does not only hold the position of Senior Deputy Convener of the Movement but is an academician at the University of Karachi. The security force had also held him in unlawful detention for many months in past. The security and law enforcement forces deserve high condemnation on their actions beyond any law.
The Coordination Committee said banned terrorist outfits and extremist organisations have been patronised by the state authorities in Pakistan while senescent academician and leader of the Movement is frequently agonised through arresting and mental torture and treated like proclaimed offenders.
It vowed that these draconian and demonic tactics would fail as the MQM leaders and workers could not be intimidated or subjected to slavery.
