Security forces have geared up pace of implementing vicious agenda of eliminating MQM: Coordination Committee
“Paramilitary Rangers and Pakistan Military’s intelligence agencies are kidnapping MQM workers from their homes, torturing them in detention centres – Number of missing MQM workers has drastically increased – International rights organisations should play their role to stop atrocities, kidnappings, unlawful detention of MQM workers”
Muttahidda Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Coordination Committee (CC) has condemned the law enforcement agencies (LEA), Police and paramilitary Rangers for kidnapping MQM workers from their homes. These LEAs have accelerated pace of their targeted arrests of MQM workers in order to meet their vicious agenda of eliminating MQM for raising voice for the rights of Mohajir Nation.
It said that the paramilitary Rangers had on Saturday night kidnapped MQM Unit 185, Union Council 50 worker Khalid Papa when he was back to his home after performing Friday prayers.
Conversely, the plain-clothed Rangers personnel kidnapped APMSO Sector-A office-bearer Mizran Ali from his home in North Nazimabad and took him to an undisclosed location.
Rangers also kidnapped MQM Shah Faisal Colony Sector Unit 107 workers Yameen and Chand.
The paramilitary force had also raided the house of MQM worker Aslam in the same locality and manhandled female members of his family.
Rangers have on Saturday kidnapped MQM New Karachi Unit 142 worker Muhammad Shoaib from near his home.
Rangers have kidnapped MQM Federal B. Area Unit 153-B worker Asad Ikhlaque. Rangers had also kidnapped Waheed from same locality, a couple of days ago.
Rangers have on Sunday kidnapped APMSO’s former office-bearer Waqas Ahmed Siddiqui from Surjani Town.
The CC while vehemently condemning the paramilitary Rangers for unwarranted, unlawful arbitrary arrests of MQM workers said that the kidnapped workers are being vehemently tortured in detention centres run by the paramilitary Rangers and intelligence agencies.
It said that the kidnapped MQM workers have never been produced in any court of law to prove their guilt or crime and they are all missing knowing not whether they are alive or extrajudicially murdered by the military establishment, intelligence agencies and paramilitary Rangers. The military establishment and its paramilitary forces are involved in extreme of human rights violations.
The CC said that the military establishment, intelligence agencies and paramilitary Rangers are solely targeting MQM workers with only aim of eliminating MQM and suppressing MQM’s voice against human rights violations, for rights of Mohajir Nation.
It said that the sole purpose of ongoing military operation in Karachi is not to restore peace and tranquility but to crush MQM.
The CC appealed to the international human rights organisations to take notice of atrocities and injustices on Mohajirs by the military establishment in Pakistan and its paramilitary forces and play their role for safe return of the kidnapped MQM workers to their homes.
