Detention of social media activists, bloggers, journalists by FIA highly condemnable: Altaf Hussain
“Pakistan Army is not a sacred cow that can’t be criticised over unlawful actions and crimes – Cyber Crime Law is a draconian law, which has to be revoked – Army does not have right to use force against freedom of speech”
Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Pakistan founder leader Mr. Altaf Hussain has vehemently condemned Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) by applying the draconian law of Cyber Crime against the social media activists and bloggers for raising their voices against injustices. The draconian Cyber Crime Law must be revoked immediately.
In his statement issued here in London, Mr. Hussain said that Pakistani Army is not a sacred cow that none can dare to slam it over unlawful actions, atrocities and crimes. Is this a crime to criticise the army over kidnapping the civilians, killing the civilians in custody, enforcing any civilian to disappear? Is army not answerable to any law or is free to use all the barbaric actions against those who would dare to speak the truth louder?
It is an undeniable fact that the army and its different wings have picked many civilians and even journalist and dumped their bodies after killing them in custody and when asked, they say they don’t know as who killed those civilians and journalists.
Mr. Hussain said that its is the sole duty and responsibility of army to ensure the geographical boundaries of the country are safe and protected. The army does not have any right of silencing any civilian over his courage and right raise his voice of concern and point out the wrongdoings of the army. How long the army would keep the civilians silent under these barbaric tactics?
The MQM founder leader Mr. Hussain asked the Pakistan’s lawyers fraternity, journalists and intellectual to speak louder against the tyranny imposed by the army for suppressing the freedom of speech. The people of the country should also rise against this pure injustice.
