Safia Akbar Passed Away: MQM announces 3-day mourning
"MQM Chief Altaf Hussain endorses the announcement of 3-day mourning"

LONDON. MAY 19, 2020: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has announced a 3-day mourning on the sad demise of Ms. Safia Akbar, a senior most member of the MQM. She was in-charge of MQM UK Women Wing.
Mr Hussain has endorsed the announcement.
The Interim Convener of the MQM Coordination Committee, Tariq Jawaid, said that Ms. Akbar was the senior most member of the MQM and that she had rendered invaluable services in the struggle of the MQM and her services can never be forgotten and will always be remembered.
He said that with the demise of Ms. Akbar, MQM workers and sympathisers all over the world, including the founder of the MQM, Altaf Hussain are deeply saddened and are in deep shock and agony.
Jawaid expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of Ms. Akbar and said that the entire Movement shall mourn for following 3 days.
The organisational activities of the Movement would remain suspended during 3 days of mourning.
Congregations of special prayers would be held at MQM offices across the world including Pakistan for the deceased.
