PARLIAMENT IS THE MAKER OF CONSTITUTION; DON’T INSULT IT: ALTAF HUSSAIN

“He wants to eliminate the Jihadi culture from Pakistan but this Jihadi culture is being exported to other countries from Pakistan.”

“The policies of the Pakistani military establishment have converted the entire area of Pakhtoon into a war-hit and terror-hit zone.”

“It a bad luck to Pakistan that no army General has so far been brought to justice box for all wrongdoings and the SC is today and ever tried civilians”.

LONDON. February 21, 2018: Father of the Mohajir Nation and founder leader of the MQM Mr. Altaf Hussain has said that though the country’s constitution worthy of esteem and regard in all aspects but this very constitution is the product of the peoples’ elected Parliament and hence disrespecting the Parliament is not good for the future of democracy in Pakistan.

This he stated while addressing live to the MQM affiliates across the globe on Tuesday direct from London. His address was watched live on social media. In his address, he spoke on variety of issues, atrocities on Mohajirs, Balouchs, Pakhtoons and other folks in Pakistan, custodial assassination of Prof. Dr Hassan Zafar Arif by the security forces of Pakistan, custodial assassination of young Pakhtoon Naqeebullah Mehsood by Police SSP Rao Anwar, failure of the state security and law enforcement forces in producing the fake encounter fame Police officer Rao Anwar, mysterious death of eminent lawyer and rights activist Asma Jahangir and other issues.

Mr. Hussain on recent judgment of the Supreme Court through the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mr. Justice Saquib Nisar said that it looked as if the CJP is a serving army General and his team of the judges is a team of army Generals and this is evident from his actions, remarks and judgments he has made so far.

He said that he has heard the CJP saying that the esteem and regard of the Parliament was essential but the constitution is greater with regard to esteem and abidance. Though he said correctly but he should at least learn as which authority except the Parliament is the producer of that very constitution. The 1973 constitution was the product of the Parliament, nit of the Apex court and it was the Parliament that introduced amendments in that very constitution. Only the Parliament has the powers and right to legislate on matters, amend the constitution, removes certain articles from the constitution and hence the Parliament is also called as Legislative assembly. Therefore, it would be an offence to consider the parliament as inferior to the SC and especially when the SC would put the Parliament on affront.

Mr. Hussain said that the CJP was irked on certain political statements of the ousted Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and served with contempt to court notice to him, his daughter Maryam Safdar and other PMLN leaders. A step further, it is heard that sanctions on Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is being proposed like sanctions on MQM founder leader Mr. Hussain. This would be highly deplorable act.

He said that the zealots of Faizabad sit-in that was staged at the behest of military establishment, and the sit-in kingpin cleric Khadim Hussain Rizvi called names to the judiciary especially to the CJP Saquib Nisar but the later has not taken any suo motu notice on that yet, which is disappointing. Failing to take suo motu notice on Rizvi’s foul language and disrespect to SDC would be tantamount to favouring him and discriminating the others. This double standard would solely be a manifest of bias against Mr. Sharif.

Discussing about slain MQM leader Prof. Dr Hassan Zafar Arif, he said that Pakistan’s military establishment assassinated him in custody because he refused to take dictation and live like a slave. It is of immense pain and agony that the CJP has also failed to take notice of custodial assassination of him perhaps because he does not want to annoy the military establishment. Conversely, a Pakhtoon youth Naqeebullah Mehsood was assassinated in fake encounter by Police team led by SSP Rao Anwar. The custodial assassinations of Prof. Arif and Mehsood have changed the atmosphere in Pakistan and the entire Pakhtoon community has taken to streets for justice. Today, Pakhtoon community is also demanding for freedom from Pakistan and is directly pointing at the military establishment as main culprit behind genocide of minorities in Pakistan and terrorism. It is impossible for law enforcing forces to arrest the Killer police officer Rao Anwar because the ISI has provided him a safe shelter at one of ISI’s safe houses, similarly as the ISI had provided safe heaven to international terrorists Osama Bin Laden near army cantonment in Abbotabad. The SC has failed to prove its not slave to the establishment and so many examples are available like the TV anchorperson who leveled fraudulent allegations regarding Zainub murder case and the SC only took notice and let the matter disappear.

He slammed PPP’s Co-Chairperson Asif Ali Zardari for calling Rao Anwar as “Brave Child”. In fact, Zardari and Rao Anwar are two side by side accomplices in cold blooded murder of Mir Murtaza Bhutto, who was brother of Zardari’s spouse Benazir Bhutto, and Zardari order for murder of Benazir’s security guard Khalid Shahenshah because he was eye-witness to crimes of Zardari, and Zardari also ordered for murder of Bilal Shaikh. The will of slain Benazir Bhutto that Zardari has claimed as her hand-written testimony is fake, he claimed.

He said that one of Zardari’s past close aides Dr Zulfiquar Mirza had stated that MQM was rival party to PPP and hence Mohajirs should be killed through the notorious Lyari Amn Committee. Rao Anwar had not only killed hundreds of Mohajirs but he also killed hundreds of Pakhtoon in fake police encounters. Zardari should tender unconditional apology to Mohajirs for alleging them of killing police SHOs or else he would stay ready for being exposed. The killer of Mehsood might escape punishment in this world but he would certainly face the consequences hereinafter.

Mr. Hussain said that Pakhtoon community has been enslaved by the Pakistani military establishment. They are the people of Pakistan’s tribal areas who always rendered tremendous sacrifices for the country and fought with the enemies shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan army but the later has exploited them.

“The policies of the Pakistani military establishment have converted the entire area of Pakhtoon into a war-hit and terror-hit zone.”

The people of the tribal areas have been forced to leave their homes and live life of IDPs in Rawalpindi, Islamabad and in Punjab but in Punjab they have been mocked and they are in utter desperate conditions because of discrimination in Punjab. It has become a trend in Pakistan to present Pakhtoon as terrorist in TV dramas and film.

The military establishment has provided a safe haven to TTP spokesperson Ehsanuillah Ehsan and helped Swat’s terrorist cleric Sufi Muhammad to get released from jail. The people of FATA have been butchered in the garb of terrorists. It is high time for the youth of tribal areas of Pakistan to realise that their grievances and anomalies are engineered by the Pakistani military establishment.

Mr. Hussain asked why the military establishment is failing to launch any military operation against Punjabi Taliban in Punjab they have so many safe sanctuaries. It is only because the Punjabi Talibans are not Pakhtoon or Mohajirs. This sheer act of discrimination gives rise to so many questions.

He said that PTI chief IK led a 126-day long sit-in in Islamabad and cleric Khadim Hussain Rizvi also held Islamabad under siege for many days but the military establishment did not take any action against them. On the other, the Pakhtoon staged a protest sit-in in Islamabad against assassination of Mehsood in fake police encounter but the administration had forced them to end their just right of protest without listening to them.

He said that sanctions have been imposed on him and initially it was said that the sanctions would be only for six months. The sanctions have been imposed on pressure from military establishment. He said that he is leader of 70 million Mohajirs and also a supporter of the despondent, oppressed and victim communities. He said that he is the biggest right activists of Christian, Hindus, Ahmedis and all other minorities because they are all Pakistani nationals and have right to have equal rights as Pakistani citizens. Unfortunately, the law on blasphemy is misused and people from both Muslim majority and non-Muslim minority in Pakistan are under life threat due to misuse fo that law. He said that he has firm belief that neither a Muslim nor a non0-Muslim could ever think of disrespecting the Holy Quran.

He said, “It a bad luck to Pakistan that no army General has so far been brought to justice box for all wrongdoings and the SC is today and ever tried civilians”. It is not daring to take notice of corruption of army Generals. Ex-COAS general (Retd) Ashfaque Pervez Kyani’s brother minted billions from corruption and ex-DG ISI General (Retd) Rizwan Akhtar minted billions through corruption and extortion but they have never been tried because they hailed from army.

He said that the article 6 of the constitution is regarding trial and punishment of those who commit treason but none of the military dictators who suspended country’s constitution and occupied power have never been tried under article 6. The SC did nothing to save the poor from the claws of the influentials and feuds who have their private jails. The courts in Pakistan are not free and if anyone has any doubt he is invited to engage with him in debate over the subject.

He said that he is against the discriminatory laws and treatment, against the oppressive feudal system, against corruption and injustices and that he is not enemy of Pakistan as the army has portrayed him for their vested designs.

He said that, “He wants to eliminate the Jihadi culture from Pakistan but this Jihadi culture is being exported to other countries from Pakistan.”

The military establishment has sent troops to Saudi Arabia against Yemen and has thus sided with Saudis. It is a fact that the troops sent to Saudi Arabia are not for peace mission.

He asked the military establishment to stop portraying him as enemy of Pakistan because he has the full capacity to rescue Pakistan.
