Dr Nadeem Ehsan, Qasim Ali Raza elected as Convener, Deputy Convener of the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) respectively

LONDON. January 20,, 2018: A meeting of MQM seniors was held at the MQM International secretariat. The meeting was attended by seniors from Pakistan, United Kingdom, United States of America, Canada, Belgium, South Africa and other countries.

The meeting deliberated upon issues that pertain to Pakistan, international and MQM organizational matters.

The meeting slammed the Pakistan’s military establishment on custodial assassination of MQM senior leader Prof. Dr Hassan Zafar Arif, who was a senior and eminent academician, a thinker, writer and intellect.

The meeting while pointing at the suo motu notice from Pakistan’s Chief Justice, Mr. Justice Saquib Nisar on custodial death of Naqeebullah Mehsood and other trifle issues questioned as why he fails to take a suo motu on the custodial assassination of Prof Arif, who lived a life of teacher, thinker and educationist.

The meeting demanded Pakistan’s Chief Justice, Mr. Justice Nisar that he should also take a suo motu notice on his cold blood custodial assassination by the security forces of the country and take every step towards the dispensation of justice.

It was unanimously decided in the meeting that in order to accelerate the pace of ideological and organisation process and working, a fully functional Central Coordination Committee should be constituted through balloting.

It further and unanimously decided that besides the Central Coordination Committee, a Central Executive Committee should at once be formed and the members of which should be increased gradually per the need.

Nonetheless, a process of balloting was conducted for constituting the Central Coordination Committee and subsequent to balloting process, Dr Nadeem Ehsan secured the highest numbers of votes and was thus elected to the position of the Convener while MQM International Secretariat In-charge Mr. Qasim Ali Raza was on second and was thus elected as the Deputy Convener of the Central Coordination Committee of the Movement.

The balloting continued until Mr. Mustafa Azizabadi, Mr. Manzoor Ahmed, Dr Saleem Danish and Mr. Sufyan Yusuf, who is also member national assembly of Pakistan, were elected as Central Coordination Committee members.

Meanwhile, for the CEC, Mr. Asif Qazi, Mr. Shahid Raza, Mr. Shahid Mustafa, Adnan Naqvi and Mr. Muhammad Saleem were elected as senior members.

Founder and leader of the Movement Mr. Altaf Hussain endorsed the decisions taken in the meeting.

The meeting appealed to the workers and sympathizers to take the work of advancing the MQM organization and the Movement that was carried by the slain MQM leader Prof. Arif ahead with complete confidentiality and make all efforts for bringing more and more workers to the Movement.

The meeting also unanimously informed hereby that the Movement and its founder and leader Mr. Hussain has nothing to do with the recently surfaced “#FreeKarachi” campaign.

In the conclusion, the meeting offered prayers to the departed soul of Prof. Arif and all the martyrs of the Movement and paid rich tribute to Prof. Arif for his devotion, form resolve and loyalty to the cause of the Movement. The meeting asserted that the unforgettable services of Prof. Arif would always be remembered and would be inscribed in pages of history with golden words.

The meeting showed complete and unwavering trust and confidence on founder and leader of the Movement.
