MQM Convener Nadeem Nusrat condemns arrest of RC member Mustafa Azizabadi’s younger brother in Karachi
Demands the new Army Chief and Corps Commander Karachi to take notice

MQM Convener Nadeem Nusrat has vehemently condemned the Rangers raid at the residence of MQM RC member Mustafa Azizabadi in Karachi and unlawful arrest of his apolitical younger brother Mansoor Ali.

In a press statement, Nadeem Nusrat said that it is a public knowledge that Mustafa Azizabadi is based in London and hasn’t even visited his family for the last many years. His family is apolitical and none of his siblings is wanted by law in any charge. Addressing the army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Nadeem Nusrat said that “people of urban Sindh are grateful over your appointment as the new army chief and are hopeful that you’ll put an end to the illegal acts some Rangers personnel are committing against MQM and its leaders and workers”.

“Mustafa Azizabadi is a literary person, poet and columnist. He has never been involved in any criminal and anti-social activities and his family is apolitical. Despite this, Rangers personnel raised his house located in Water and Sewerage Board Colony in North Nazimabad, Karachi, and arrested his younger brother Mansoor Ali without any justification and took him to an unknown location”, Nusrat added.

Referring to MQM’s recent announcement to hold “Pakistan solidarity rally” in Karachi, Nadeem Nusrat said that it is quite astonishing that Rangers have intensified their action against MQM after this announcement. “Is holding a pro-Pakistan rally and preaching tolerance are a crime?” Nusrat asked the authorities.

Nadeem Nusrat appealed to the new army chief Lt. Gen. Qamar javed Bajwa, Corps Commander Karachi Lieutenant General Shahid Baig Mirza and the Director General Rangers Major General Mohammad Saeed to urgently take action to put a stop to the illegal and unwarranted raids and arrests of MQM members and their family members and immediately release all detained MQM leaders and members.
