ALTAF HUSSAIN’S OPEN LETTER

ATTENTION PLEASE

5^TH February 2010

Today, Friday 5^th February 2010 was the chehlum procession of Hazrat Imam Hussain and other family members of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (P.B.U.H.), mourning their brutal assassination on 10^th Mohram-ul-Haram 61^st A.H. In two different suicidal attempts and bomb blasts in Karachi 25 innocent people were killed and more than 100 were seriously injured.

I am really sorry to say that I am extremely upset, saddened and grieved that I have been appealing to invite the attention of hierarchy of the Pakistani Government and the International Community, including all National and International Human Rights Organisations to please pay attention to my apprehensions regarding the growing Talibanisation of Karachi, but nobody took it seriously-that is why I said…” I am sorry”

According to the claim of the Taliban Leaders that Karachi is the hub and the important centre of the Taliban, even then nobody paid attention to my appeals about the Talibanisation of Karachi.

Now the persistent Taliban attacks and suicide bombings are targeting innocent men, women, children, elders and youngsters of Karachi and killing them brutally.

Once again, I request the Pakistani authorities and International community, including all Human Rights Organisations to use their good offices to curb the actions of Taliban in Karachi and save the lives of the innocent citizens of Karachi.

I request you all, to please pay serious attention to the statements issued by political and religious leaders who directly or indirectly, covertly or overtly show their support for the Taliban and justify their terrorist actions.

If, still, serious notice is not taken, Karachi will be just another Swat, South and North Waziristan and other places of NWFP and tribal areas.
