MQM CONDEMNS CONDITIONAL RELEASE OF NOTORIOUS TERRORIST ZAFAR BALOCH BY RANGERS
RELEASE OF THE SAVAGE KILLER HAS PUT A QUESTION MARK ON
THE ONGOING OPERATION AGAINST TERRORISTS IN THE CITY

LONDON: 25TH SEPTEMBER 2011

Members of the Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Muhammad Anwer, Tariq Mir, Saleem Shahzad, Tariq Jawed, Anis Advocate, Asif Siddiqui, Mustafa Azizabadi, Muhammad Ashfaq and Qasim Ali Raza have strongly condemned the conditional release of the notorious criminal and terrorist of the Lyari gang war Zafar Baloch by the Rangers.

In a joint statement, the members of the Co-ordination Committee said that the conditional release of Zafar Baloch, who is directly involved in the killings of a number of innocent Mohajirs, has put a big question mark on the credibility of the ongoing operation by the police and the rangers against the extortionists and the terrorists. The condition release of Zafar Baloch smacks of foul play and highly condemnable.

The members of the Co-ordination Committee said that Zafar Baloch was behind the kidnappings of dozens on innocent Mohajirs from public transport buses during the holy month of Ramadan. These innocent people were abducted after ascertaining their identities under direct orders from Zafar Baloch. These kidnapped people were taken to the torture cells in Lyari where they were tortured in a highly cruel manner. These innocent people were put to death in the most horrific manner, and their heads were cut off after heartless physical torture. The release of such a barbaric killer is bound to raise suspicion in the minds of people of Karachi concerning the ongoing operation in the city purportedly directed against the terrorists.

The members of the Co-ordination Committee said that Zafar Baloch was closely attached to former home minister Zulfiqar Mirza as he was sitting next to Mirza during his press conference against the MQM. Zafar Baloch had been carrying out terrorist activities in the city at the behest of Zulfiqar Mirza when the latter was the home minister. They said that Mirza was still giving full protection to the notorious Zafar Baloch.

The members of the Co-ordination Committee appealed to Supreme Court of Pakistan to take serious notice of the conditional release of Zafar Baloch, who was involved in the killings of dozens of Mohajirs in the city. They also appealed to the human rights organizations to investigate the conditional release through their own resources.
