MQM OBSERVES FIRST DEATH ANNIVERSARY OF DR IMRAN FAROOQ WITH REVERENCE

The first death anniversary of the martyr of revolution Dr Imran Farooq was observed by Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) throughout the country with reverence. Recitation of the Holy Quran was fateha was performed for the blessing of the soul departed leader. Glowing tributes were paid to Dr Farooq for his services to the movement.

The largest gathering for the anniversary was held in Lal Qila Ground Azizabad in which deputy convener Anis Qaimkhani and members Kunwar Khalid Yunus, Shoaib Bukhari, Dr Nusrat, Jawed Kazmi, Mumtaz Anwar, Wasay Jalil, Kunwar Naveed, Shahid Latif, Wasim Aftab, Dr Sagheer Ahmed, Shakir Ali, Salim Tajik, Tousif Khanzada, Saif Yar Khan, Naik Muhammad, Gulfaraz Khattak, Mustafa Kamal, Yousuf Shahwani and Kaif-ul-Wura participated.

MQM leader Amir Khan, parliamentarians, former local government elected representatives, parents of Dr Farooq, and other members of the family were also present to pay homage to the late convener of the MQM.

Office-bearers and workers of various wings of the MQM and a large number of the people also attended the anniversary gathering at the Lal Qila Ground.

Maulana Asad Deobandi offered prayers for the soul of Dr Farooq. He prayed Allah to shower his blessings on his soul and raise his position. He also prayed for the long life and the health of Mr Altaf Hussain.

Anniversary meetings were also held in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Nawabshah, Sanghar, Badin, Larkana, Naushahro Feroze, Dadu, Ghotki, Mirpurkhas, Tando Allahyar, Umerkot, Qambar, Shahdadkot, Kashmore, Khairpur, Thatta, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Jamshoro, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Lahore, Gujranwala, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, and Baluchistan.

Anniversary meetings were also held in the overseas units of the MQM in which workers took part and offered fateha for their beloved leader.

Earlier members of the Co-ordination Committee visited the graveyard in Azizabad and laid floral wreath on the grave of Dr Imran Farooq.

KILLERS OF DR IMRAN FAROOQ WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ESCAPE PUNISHMENT

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the assassins who killed Dr Imran Farooq in a brutal manner would not be able to escape punishment. He said this while speaking at a gathering in Sharifabad Karachi on the first death anniversary of Dr Farooq.

Mr Hussain said that Dr Farooq was full of the milk of humanity and led a balanced life. He avoided unnecessary discussion and did not use too many words to express himself. He could convey meaningful information in a few words. He was a great personality in his own right.

Mr Hussain paid glowing tributes to Dr Farooq and said that Imran Farooq was not the name of an individual. It was the name of a movement, a history and a heroic struggle. It is the name of unending hardships and meeting adversities in the way of a just struggle. It is the name of touching the height of resolve and perseverance.

Mr Hussain said that he was very close to Dr Farooq, and although it has been one year since his death, he found it difficult to believe that he was not alive. He said that on several occasions he had asked his colleagues to consult Dr Farooq whenever an important issue came even after his death.  

Mr Hussain said that he along with all the office-bearers and workers of the MQM recognized the services of Dr Farooq during the army operation of 1992. Dr Farooq remained steadfast and carried forward the struggle in the face of extreme hardships with bravery.

Mr Hussain said that he would always cherish the feelings that he had regarding Dr Farooq. He emphasized upon the MQM workers to study the life of Dr Farooq and try to emulate him.  

Mr Hussain said that the physical appearances, wealth and poverty had no importance in life. It is the works of an individual that make him important. A man is recognized because of his actions and is remembered in the history because of deeds.

Mr Hussain sympathized with the family members of Dr Farooq, offered fateha and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul. He also prayed for the unfortunate people put to death in Karachi during the recent spate of killing and violence.

Mr Hussain also expressed his heartfelt sympathies for the people hit by torrential rains and consequent flooding. He also prayed for the victims of dengue fever in the Punjab.

Mr Hussain prayed Allah for the peace and stability in Karachi. He prayed Allah to create the feelings of love and harmony among the people living in the city.
