PAKISTAN IS IN THE THROES OF SERIOUS PROBLEMS: ALTAF HUSSAIN

THE SITUATION REQUIRES SAGACIOUS AND FORESIGHTED APPROACH INSTEAD OF EMOTIONAL ACTIONS

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has warned that the country is passing through the most critical period and it is in the throes grave threats. It is the need of the hour to find the solutions of the problems facing the country with sagacity and foresight instead of taking recourse to emotional actions. He said this while addressing an organizational meeting at the MQM Head Office Nine Zero.

Members of the Co-ordination Committee, Senators, MNAs, MPAs and office-bearers of all the wings of the MQM attended the meeting.

The meeting deliberated on the development of strain in the relations between Pakistan and the United States, the All-Parties Conference called by the government, and the current situation in the country.  

Mr Hussain said that one province of the country was in the grip of dengue virus epidemic, second was devastated by the recent floods , third was strife-torn while the fourth was torn apart by bomb blast, drone attacks, and overrun by religious extremists.  

The allegations of being levelled by the US government, the Congress and the heads of the armed forces in the present difficult times of the country were not only unfortunate but worthy of strong condemnation.

Mr Hussain said that the unparalleled sacrifices rendered by the people of Pakistan and the armed forces of the country in the war against terror cannot be denied. The nation and the country needed unity and solidarity in the present circumstances.

Mr Hussain said that the sensitivities of the times demanded that the political and ideological differences be set aside in order to weld the nation in a strong bond of unity for taking on the challenges facing the country.

Mr Hussain declared that the MQM would firmly support any consensus line of action evolved by the government of Pakistan, the armed forces and the national defence institutions for resolving the challenges facing national security and existence.
