The central Coordination Committee of MQM have appealed to the president of Pakistan and the human rights organisations to take immediate steps to save the life of a MQM worker Mr. Raja.

Mr. Raja have been kidnapped by the Haqiqi terrorist namely Foji and his four accomplices around 10.00 pm (PST) on 10 September 2002 from the roundabout of Korangi 2 ½, Karachi .  The Haqiqi terrorists have taken him to some unknown place and his life is in grave danger.  The leaders of the MQM have informed the higher officials of the police and administration but no action have been taken by the police and administration till now.

The Central Coordination Committee have strongly condemned this incident and demanded the immediate recovery of Mr. Raja and arrests of the Haqiqi kidnappers.

The Central Coordination Committee of the MQM have strongly condemned the terrorists activities of Haqiqi terrorist under the patronage of intelligence agencies and the hindrances created by the Para military rangers, police and administration to disturb the peaceful election campaign of the MQM.

Following are the details of today’s incident:

Ø                  In Unit 140-A, New Karachi Sector, Haqiqi terrorists were constantly firing in the area and were removing the party flags of the MQM.  They also snatched bundles of cloths from the shopkeepers.  Notorious Station House Officer (SHO) Taufiq Zahid and the personnel of Para military rangers were present there to protect the Haqiqi terrorists.

Ø                  In Liaquatabad, Karachi , the personnel of Para military rangers were removing the party flags of the MQM.  The supporters of the MQM have hoisted these flags on their houses and shops voluntarily.

Ø                  The Station House Officer of Buffer Zone Police Station, Karachi ,  has unlawfully arrested Mr. Syed Tayyab Hussain Hashmi, an MQM Candidate for the provincial assembly of Sindh.  The police have also taken his car in their custody.  

Ø                  In Ranchoor Line, Karachi , MQM worker Mr. Mukhtar was shot near the election office of the MQM by the son of police personnel.  Mr. Mukhtar got injured and now he was in civil hospital, Karachi.
