UNDEMOCRATIC METHODS SHOULD NOT BE USED TO REMOVE THE GOVERNMENT: ALTAF HUSSAIN

POLITICAL CRITICISM MUST ALWAYS BE DONE WITHIN THE BOUNDS OF DECENCY

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned and denounced the use of derogatory and abusive language used by the leaders of the PML (N) in a public meeting in Lahore. Chief Minister of Punjab Mr Shahbaz Sharif did not say anything of importance in the public meeting rather than hurling offensive at President Asif Zardari. Mr Hussain was addressing a workers convention of the MQM in Lal Qila Ground Azizabad. The telephonic address of Mr Hussain was simultaneously relayed to 33 zones of the MQM in the country.
 

Deputy Conveners of the Co-ordination Committee Dr Farooq Sattar, Anis Ahmed Qaimkhani, and members Raza Haroon, Kunwar Naveed Jamil, Nasrin Jalil, Mumtaz Anwer, Wasim Aftab, Mustafa Kamal, Saif Yar Khan, Kunwar Khalid Yunus, Dr Sagheer Ahmed, Wasay Jalil, Gulfaraz Khattak, and Yousuf Shahwani were present on the occasion.

“The office of the president has its dignity, and it is the symbol of the federation. The dignity of the office of the president should have been respected by the leaders of the PML (N)”.
 

Mr Hussain said that the MQM would hold a protest rally tomorrow at 2:00 pm at Tibet Centre on M A Jinnah road and register strong protest over the derogatory and un-parliamentary language used against President Zardari in Punjab.

Mr Hussain said that the undemocratic attitude of the PML (N) was aimed at stopping the wheel of democracy in the country. The MQM would protect the democracy, and it would fight those who wanted to remove the government by adopting undemocratic methods.

Mr Hussain invited leaders and workers of PML (Q), PML (F) and PPP and all other political forces to take full part in the protest rally in order that they did not want the democracy to derail.
 

Mr Hussain asserted that criticism must always be done within the limits of decency. No one should use abusive language.

Mr Hussain said that elections were coming, and the MQM would give amazing results throughout the country. 

Earlier Mr Hussain spoke about the welfare activities of Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation (KKF) and SUN Charity. SUN Charity has established a modern academy in Karachi, and it is making plans to expand its network across the country. 

SUN Charity, registered in UK and having branches in USA and Canada, has sent fully equipped ambulances to Pakistan. KKF was also expanding its ambulance network in the country.
 

He said that the KKF had been carrying out welfare activities in the country in order to bring relief to the people in need. He said that the KKF was also establishing schools, colleges and dispensaries. Nazir Hussain University, one of the major educational projects, is also in the process of completion. A modern hospital, equipped with latest machineries and health facilities has recently been inaugurated in Hyderabad.

Mr Hussain asked the MQM workers and KKF volunteers to adhere to the guidelines given to them by the Co-ordination Committee in the collection of the hides of sacrificial animals.
 

Earlier Deputy Convener Dr Farooq Sattar and Chief Trustee of the KKF Syed Mustafa Kamal also spoke and shed light on the working of the KKF and its welfare activities. Dr Sattar said that the MQM collected largest number of hides as compared to any other welfare organization in the city. He asked the MQM workers to remain vigilant and keep an eye on the miscreants that wanted to tarnish the good name of the MQM.
