IF THE PML (N) BRINGS A NO-CONFIDENCE MOTION AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT IT WILL BE DEFEATED: ALTAF HUSSAIN

NAWAZ SHARIF VISITED SINDH TO FOOL THE PEOPLE

HOW CAN SOMEONE WHO COULD NOT GIVE JUSTICE TO THE WOMEN OF HIS FAMILY DO JUSTICE TO THE PEOPLE

CHIEF JUSTICE OF PAKISTAN SHOULD TAKE SUO  MOTU NOTICE OF AAISA AHAD MALIK CASE

KARACHI: 8TH OCTOBER 2011:

Mr Hussain said that the big political family that had done gross injustice to the daughter of Pakistan Aaisha Ahad Malik was trying to bring a no-confidence motion against the present democratic government in connivance with some other elements, but the conspiracy would fail.

Mr Hussain appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo motu notice of the injustice done to Aaisha Ahad Malik. The son of the head of the ruling party in the Punjab married her for a short period of six months. She was implicated in false cases and put behind the bars when she raised voice for her rights.

Mr Hussain said that, on the one hand, Pakistan was faced with international conspiracies while, on the other hand, it was in the grip of natural disasters. The Punjab was hit hard by the dengue fever epidemic. A large number had died because of the dengue epidemic and thousands more were fighting the disease. Sindh has been devastated by floods and 7 to 8 million people have become displaced and shelterless.

Mr Hussain regretted that the institutions meant for carrying out relief work were in place whether it was Sindh, the Punjab or Balochistan and funds were also available, but the government had not been able to ameliorate the sufferings of the poor people the way it should have.

Mr Hussain said that the big leader of a province who always sought to project himself as a national leader brought peasants and farmers in buses in Sindh and wanted to create an impression that he had come to look after the people of Sindh to share their problems. How many times did this leader visit the villages from Qasur to Vehari inundated by flood water only a few miles from the Raiwind farms? If someone wanted to help the people affected by the floods, he should do it without doing politics over the situation.

Mr Hussain said that baseless allegations should be avoided as others also could pay back in the same coin. It takes two to make a quarrel. These leaders coming to Sindh on the pretext of helping the flood-hit people are constantly issuing statements calling for a ban on certain political parties by interpreting the observations and suggestions of the Supreme Court as a judgment. Who could be the bigger terrorist then he who did not even hesitate to throw the women of his families in jail when they demand their rights? It is parties like this that should be banned.

Mr Hussain said that the brothers and sons of those who talk about banning other political parties were leading a profligate like Moghul princes. They marry for six months and then throw their wives out when they demand their rights. How someone who would implicate even the women of his family in false cases if they raised voice for their rights does justice to the people of Sindh and Pakistan.

Mr Hussain said that Aaisha Ahad Malik was also someone’s daughter and she, and her family should get justice. Courts should be faced instead of denying the marriage altogether.

Mr Hussain said that some elements always heap scorns on the MQM based on false reports. They try to create an impression, particularly in the Punjab, that the MQM is an anti-state party. The MQM, he asserted, is not an anti-state party. The MQM had neither looted national wealth nor defrauded money from the overseas Pakistanis in the name of foreign-currency accounts. Those who have looted national wealth have palaces in foreign countries. The MQM has no palaces in foreign countries and if anyone is in possession of proof to the contrary, should submit those proofs in a court of law.

Mr Hussain said that he would soon inform the nation that the big political family which has done gross injustice to Aaisha Ahad Malik was trying to bring a no-confidence motion against the present democratic government in connivance with some other people. The MQM was aware of this scheme and even the PPP knew about it. This conspiracy would, nonetheless, fail.

Mr Hussain said that the purpose of today’s gathering was to recognize the services of the volunteers of the KKF and the workers of the MQM who were constantly busy in relief work to ameliorate the sufferings of the flood-hit people in Sindh and victims of dengue epidemic in the Punjab. It became necessary to give an answer as some elements had crossed the limits of decency and ethics in their diatribe against the MQM.

Addressing the anchor persons, journalists, intellectuals and writer Mr Hussain said that it was their right to make positive criticism on the policies of the MQM but they should write a few words regarding Aaisha Ahad Malik as well in order to get justice for her. They should inform the nation about the black deeds of those who take advantage of innocent girls by deceiving them of marriage.  The big leader of the Punjab should come on television and tell the people who Aaisha Ahad Malik was and why she has been thrown in prison by implicating in a false case.

Mr Hussain appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo motu notice on the injustices done to Aaisha Ahad Malik and take up the case in the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The human rights organization in Pakistan should also raise the voice on the issue and inform the country about the injustices done to the family of Aaisha Ahad Malik.

Mr Hussain said that innocent people belonging to the Hazara community, and the Shiite Muslims were being killed in Balochistan by taking them out of transport buses. United Nations and the developed nations should not only help Pakistan to help the people affected by the dengue virus in Pakistan but also highlight the travails of the people affected by terrorism in Pakistan at international forums.

Mr Hussain thanked the law-enforcing agencies for taking action against the criminals involved in the killing of innocent people and threatening the business community for extorting money. Action should be taken against the extortionists and the terrorists irrespective of party affiliations.

Mr Hussain said that those making false allegations against the MQM should know that the leaders, workers, office-bearers and the public representatives of the MQM are actively busy in relief efforts in the flood-hit areas of Sindh wherever they can reach through land routes. Relief goods were being sent through army helicopters in the areas that had become inaccessible through land.

Mr Hussain said that the MQM believes that serving the humanity was the greatest act of worship according to the teachings of Islam. The MQM cared little about the edicts against it. Serving the people through practical means was the gist of the political ideology of the MQM.

Mr Hussain made an impassioned appeal to solve the Balochistan problem through negotiations and dialogues instead of taking recourse to power. Estranged Baloch people should be engaged in meaningful dialogues, and they should be embraced as Pakistanis.

Mr Hussain praised the workers and office-bearers of the MQM, chief trustee of the KKF Syed Mustafa Kamal, volunteers, medical aid committee, doctor and paramedical staff for their services in the flood areas and ameliorating the problems of the people. He asked them to the help the poor people in Sindh, the Punjab, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtoonkhwah, Hazara, and Kashmir in every possible manner.
