MIDDLE CLASS MQM IS BEING STOPPED FROM SPREADING ITS MESSAGE: ALTAF HUSSAIN

LAHORE: 13TH OCTOBER 2011

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the exploitative forces did not want the end of the age-old feudal system and status quo from the country. The forces did not want the middle class to come forward as the breaking of the status quo would mean the accountability of those who had looted national wealth. The MQM was being hindered from spreading its message in the Punjab and other parts of the country only because it had originated from the middle class. All the adversaries of the MQM are putting up a united resistance against the MQM. He said this while talking to the office-bearers and workers of the MQM Lahore Zone.

Mr Hussain said that efforts had been made to finish the MQM ever since its formation. The MQM had sent leadership from the poor and middle class in the assemblies and had made sincere efforts to spread this philosophy throughout Pakistan.

Mr Hussain said that an Army Operation was started against the MQM in 1992 with the sole purpose of finishing the MQM. The baseless allegation of Jinnahpur was brought against the MQM in order to create disaffection in the minds of patriotic people. Stories of fake torture cells were run on the television and thousands of innocent workers of the MQM including his brother and nephew were put to death in a brutal manner.

Mr Hussain said that a conspiracy was plotted against the MQM when it tried to spread its message throughout the country despite all the repressions. Today when the message of the MQM was gaining wide acceptance in the Punjab and other parts of the country, baseless and absurd allegations of terrorism and treason were once again brought against the MQM in order to malign it and stop the people from coming close to the MQM.

Mr Hussain appealed to the youths, students, elders and women not to get influenced by the malicious propaganda against the MQM. He asked them to remain united.

Mr Hussain said that he was ridiculed when he unraveled the international conspiracy to break Pakistan into pieces. “Those who had mocked at me finally accepted that the United States wanted to harm Pakistan when undisguised threats were made against Pakistan by the United States.”

Mr Hussain praised the MQM office-bearers and workers for remaining steadfast in spite of conspiracies and vicious propaganda against the MQM.

Mr Hussain directed Shaheen Anwer Gillani, in-charge of the Lahore Zone of the MQM, to organize camps for blood donations in Lahore. He also asked the MQM workers to donate blood for the patients of dengue fever.
