Farooq, the Martyr of Revolution and founder member of
Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) laid to rest today at Shuhada
Graveyard in Yaseenabad, Karachi. Earlier, the funeral
prayer of Dr. Imran Farooq was offered at Jinnah Ground
Azizabad. Leader of JUI Maulana Asad Thanvi profound the
funeral Prayer of Dr. Imran Farooq. Hundreds of thousands
office bearers, workers, supporters attended funeral prayer
including Members of the MQM Coordination Committee and
elected representatives While leaders of various political
parties Pir Mazharu-ul-Haq, Rashid Rabbani, Waqar Mehdi,
Najmi Aalam (PPP), Imtiaz Shaikh (PML-F), Nihal Hashmi (PML-N),
Molana Asad Devbandi, Allama Ali Karrar Naqvi, Mirza Yousuf
Hussain, Shakil Qadri (Sunni Tehreek), famous social worker
Abdul Sattar Edhi and also attended the funeral Prayer. At
the airport, the MQM leaders wrapped the coffin of their
martyr leader’s body in party’s flag and placed the coffin
in an ambulance of Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation (KKF). During
the funeral prayer and burial emotional scenes were
observed. MQM’s leaders, workers and family members of Dr.
Imran Farooq could not control their sentiments and at times
cried.

The slain leader of Muttahida Qaumi
Movement (MQM) Dr. Imran Farooq on Saturday laid
to rest at Shuhada Graveyard in Yaseenabad,
Karachi. Earlier, the funeral prayer of Dr Imran
Farooq was offered under a very tight security
at Jinnah Ground near Party headquarters “Nine
Zero” in Azizabad. Maulana Asad Thanvi led the
funeral Prayer of the deceased leader of
Muttahida. Separate enclosure was constructed
for women as well. A large number of people
including MQM leaders Babar Ghauri, Mustafa

JOINING THE MUSHARRAF PARTY PROVED FALSE
A propaganda campaign by some anti-MQM elements was underway alleging that
MQM Convenor Dr Imran Farooq had decided to leave the MQM and join
the newly formed All Pakistan Muslim League of former President Pervez
Musharraf. However, on the eve of 1st October 2010,
the former President Pervez Musharraf while speaking with national and
international media strongly refuted the disinformation and categorically
stated that the news of Dr Imran Farooq joining his party is frivolous,
concocted and baseless.
