ALTAF HUSSAIN WANTS TERRORISTS TO LEAVE KARACHI

MQM Founder and Leader Altaf Hussain has said that the enemy of peace hatched a conspiracy to sabotage peace and by-election in the Karachi and these elements have come before the world. “The people want to make it clear that Karachi is a peaceful city and he who wants to live in Karachi should live peacefully and those who wants to spread terrorism should leave Karachi”. He made it clear that MQM was not conspiring against the government and was not deceiving it hence the government should not take MQM for a ride. He said that if the government did not change its attitude of going back on promises than MQM would go to people and seek their opinion about continuing in the government. He was addressing telephonically to MQM workers and supporters who had gathered t in large number at MQM head Office Nine Zero Azizabad and Orangi Town in Karachi to celebrate the victory in by-election.

Mr. Hussain said, “Truth has arrived and falsehood has perished and falsehood is by nature bound to perish. It is Allah Almighty who honours and it is Allah Almighty who dishonours. Whom Allah wills succeeds despite all odds, hurdles and violence. It is He who brings humiliation and defeat to inhuman murderers and their protectors”.

Condoling with the families of those who lost their lives or were injured in various incidents of recent violence, he said that the elements who boycotted election fearing defeat and gave instructions for killing innocent people in the city wanted to destroy peace and tranquillity but the people of Karachi proved through their patience and inimitable unity that they did not believe in terrorism. “People lined up at polling stations even before the start of polling time and proved by casting their vote in favour of MQM’s candidate that they were not afraid of  gun and fire power”.

He congratulated to the people at the marvellous victory of MQM’s candidate Saifuddin Khalid and said that Haq Parast   people and MQM workers worked day and night with a unity of purpose that resulted in forfeiting of sureties of the opposing candidates.

He said that along with Urdu speaking people, Punjabi, Pashto, Kashmiri, Sindhi, Baluchi and Seraiki speaking people showed their confidence in MQM and hence the victory of was a manifestation of their unity and a reflection of the fact that people were gathering under the standard of MQM  and harbinger of a revolution in the making.

He regretted the fact the people were forced to live a life of extreme misery and helplessness. “They are living without gas, electricity and potable water and prices of essential commodities skyrocketing and unemployment is increasing with every passing day.  While the poor people are committing suicide because of extreme poverty, but the rich aristocracy and their children were living a life of pelf and pleasure”.

Mr. Hussain spoke in Punjabi, Baluchi, Sindhi and Pashto as well and said that the depressed and downtrodden people have caught his hand and “together we will bring a democratic change in Pakistan. The underprivileged people of the country have now realized that MQM and Altaf Hussain is their only hope”.

He said that MQM is a peaceful and democratic political party, MQM believes  in nonviolence. He said that the people of Karachi and workers of MQM did not let go of patience which was a manifestation of the fact that MQM wanted to establish peace in Karachi and Pakistan under all cost. “ Unarmed and innocent people were subjected to indiscriminate firing by terrorist in  Karachi  but it has been proved that the people believed in bringing a change through ballot instead of bullet”.

He said that the people will defeat elements of land mafia, drug mafia and their protectors in every nook and corner. He demanded that along with taking action against these anti social elements their protectors should also be brought to book.

Addressing the government he said, “There is a limit of tolerance. We have stood by the government despite its repeated breach of promises and assurances but I want to make it clear that this gestured of MQM should not be misconstrued as its weakness. MQM has sacrificed a lot in the past for justice and attainment of power has never been the manifesto of MQM. MQM is working to reach the destination of a revolution”.

He advised the rulers to cut back on lavish expenses of the President and the Prime Minster Houses and adopt austerity and moderation. He said that the money saved from non-developmental expenses should be spent for the solution of problems of people. He criticized frequent banquets and dinners in President and Prime Minister Houses and said that this money should be utilized to feed the people harassed by hunger.

In the end he congratulated the people on the historic victory in the by-election and assured them that the blood of the martyrs was bringing a change. “The blood of Convener Dr. Imran Farooq and all those who were mercilessly killed will cause a change and a revolution will set in.”

He congratulated the workers and directed the winning MQM candidate Saifuddin Khalid to equally serve the people irrespective of their caste, colour, creed, language, sect, sex and religion. He appreciated journalists and electronic media for unbiased and fair reporting of the events preceding by-election and the entire election process.
