ALTAF HUSSAIN INSTRUCTS TO SET UP HAQ PARAST RELIEF FUND

Mr Altaf Hussain, founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has instructed its leadership to establish “Haq Parast Relief Fund” under the auspice of Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation to help rehabilitate unfortunate victims of the earthquake that has devastated Islamabad, NWFP, Punjab, Northern Areas and Azad Kashmir.  

 

Mr Altaf Hussain has appealed to the people generally and philanthropists particularly to come forward and donate generously to lessen the grief and pain of the fellow Pakistanis in their hours of distress considering this as their national duty and human obligations. He said that thousands have been dead and injured which is expected to rise. Thousands have been rendered homeless and destitute who are living under the open sky and deserve immediate help. He further added that winter is dawn upon these unfortunate people and according to the report provided to him the winter items in particular are desperately needed and therefore, he appealed to people to donate blankets, sweaters and warm clothing, tents, bed sheets, pillows, Darees, medicines and other materials including food provisions on urgent basis. He urged to the people to deposit their cash donations into the Bank Account of Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation, the details of which are as follows:

Mr Altaf Hussain said that is in regular contact with the Relief Teams and would continue his appeals to the people according to the information provided to him by the Relief Teams. He further added that Relief Camps have been established in different cities in Sindh province including Karachi where people can deposit their relief materials, which could be sent to the victims on emergency basis.
