PAKISTANI NATION MUST STAND UP TO THIS NATURAL DISASTER UNITEDLY
FROM KARACHI TO KHYBER, IT IS TIME FOR ACTION - ALTAF HUSSAIN

London-8 October 2005...Mr Altaf Hussain, founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has appealed to the Pakistani nation to unite right from Karachi to Khyber, stand up to this natural calamity that has befallen on the people of Islamabad particularly and NWFP, Punjab, Northern Areas of Pakistan, Azad Kashmir and Indian part of Kashmir generally.

Mr Altaf Hussain further said that while this earthquake is a natural disaster but for us it is a National Tragedy, which must be faced in unity. He said that it is time for action and the people should put their efforts for rescue and rehabilitation of the unfortunate victims of this calamity. Besides, appealing to the nation, he has asked the MQM Central Co-ordination Committee to act swiftly and activate its workers to reach out to the affected areas without loss of time.

Mr Altaf Hussain emphatically prayed that May Allah! Rest the souls of the dead in Jannat-ul-Firdaus, speedily recover the injured! May all the bereaved families have the strength to bear the losses! May the sufferings of the people become less and we all as Pakistanis have to act at this moment! May Allah give us strength and save the mankind from further sufferings! Ameen.
