MQM
WILL BRING THE COUNTRY IN THE LINE OF DEVELOPED
COUNTRIES IF VOTED INTO POWER: ALTAF HUSSAIN
ELIMINATING CORRUPTION WILL BE THE TOPMOST PRIORITY OF THE MQM
KARACHI: 8TH NOVEMBER 2011
Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr. Altaf Hussain has said
that the MQM would bring the country in the line of the developed countries of
the world if the people of Pakistan voted it into power. He was talking to the
volunteers at the main camp of the Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation (KKF) in Federal B
Area, Karachi, set up for collecting hides of the sacrificial animals.
Mr. Hussain that there were many who make tall claims about improving the
condition of the poor and serving the humanity but the MQM believes in making
practical efforts instead of tall claims.
“The public is witness to the fact that the MQM served wholeheartedly when it had gained control of the local governments in Karachi and Hyderabad. Both the cities were transformed into modern cities by undertaking large-scale development projects. This has been recognized by the supporters of the MQM as well as its opponents.”
“The MQM wants to carry out the same development works in other parts of the country as well. We want to serve the people without any discrimination. “
“The MQM is spreading its message across the country, and if it is made
successful by the people, particularly the younger generation, it will bring
Pakistan at par with the developed countries of the world.”
Mr. Hussain declared that it would be the topmost priority of the MQM to eliminate corruption, and it would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
“Double standards in the education system would be abolished, and uniform education will be imparted in the educational institutions of the rich and the poor.”
“Healthcare facilities will also be improved.”
Mr. Hussain said that the MQM is a highly disciplined and energetic political
party and only a party like the MQM had the potential to solve the problems of
the common people after coming into power.
“The wheel of progress was moving fast under the new system of the local
government. The absence of the local government system has impeded the growth
and development process significantly. Proper attention is not being given even
to works related to healthcare and cleanliness.”
Mr. Hussain said that the country was in the throes of internal and external
threats. We must all feel our responsibilities to the country and desist from
any action that could bring harm to the country.
Mr. Hussain praised the MQM workers and volunteers of the KKF for their untiring efforts in the collection of the hides.
