PUBLIC SHOULD SUPPORT THE MQM AS A GUARANTEE TO SECURITY OF PAKISTAN: ALTAF HUSSAIN

SUPPORTERS OF THE STATUS QUO ARE CARRYING OUT POISONOUS PROPAGANDA AGAINST THE MQM

KARACHI: 7TH NOVEMBER 2011

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has appealed to the nation to support the MQM as it was the only representative political party of the oppressed and disposed people in the country. He particularly addressed the younger generation to support the MQM as it was the guarantee to the survival and security of the country. He declared that the MQM would give incredible results in the coming general elections. He was talking to the MQM workers and KKF volunteers who had gathered in Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas and Lahore on the first day of Eid-ul-Adha in connection with the collection of hides of the sacrificial animals by the KKF. Members of the Co-ordination Committee of the party were also present on the occasion.

Mr Hussain asked the MQM workers and supporters to remain alert and increase their contacts with the public as the circumstances were changing rapidly in the country. The groups in favour of maintaining the status quo in the country were carrying out poisonous propaganda against the MQM. They make the MQM a target of their prejudiced criticism without any plausible reason. The MQM workers must face the situation with patience and prepare themselves both physically and mentally for the changing situation.

Mr Hussain said that the even the outlawed organizations were allowed to put up camps for collecting hides in the Punjab but permission was refused to the KKF. Miscreants tore the banners put up by the KKF asking the public to donate the hides to the KKF. The workers of Lahore should restrain their emotions and continue their work steadfastly.

Mr Hussain said that it was the democratic right of political parties in the Opposition to criticize the policies of the MQM and the government, but they should not take any step that could harm the democratic process in the country. They should wait for the elections and let the people give a verdict on the performance of the government through their votes.

Mr Hussain exhorted the women to join the struggle of the MQM and play their role for a positive change and a public revolution in the country. The MQM is a guarantee of the women rights hence the women should support the MQM by understanding its message.

Mr Hussain said that the MQM had been taking part in elections since 1987. Its candidate had won seats in the elections to the legislative assembly of Gilgit-Baltistan in the past elections. The MQM would gain seats from other parts of the country as well in the coming elections. The MQM would give incredible results from Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan in the coming general elections.

Mr Hussain said that he wanted peace, unity, harmony and brotherly relations among the people irrespective of religion, caste, and creed. The recognizes that every citizen has the right to follow his religion according to his free will as taught by the founding father of the country Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Mr Hussain said that the KKF was a welfare and charitable organization that was serving the humanity without any discrimination. He praised the MQM workers and KKF volunteers and extended Eid greetings to them.
