ALTAF HUSSAIN EULOGIZES THE SACRIFICES OF DR IMRAN FAROOQ

KARACHI: NOVEMEBR 2010 :
MQM Founder & Leader Altaf Hussain has said that the blood of martyr of revolution Dr. Imran Farooq and other martyrs of the movement would bring result and a revolution of poor and middle class people will come in the country which will establish a corruption free system based on the principles of justice and equality. He was making telephonic address at the Soyem of Dr. Imran Farooq that held simultaneously at Karachi, Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas. Thousands of people including the family members of Dr. Imran Farooq, MQM workers and office-bearers of different wings of the party, Federal and Provincial Ministers, Parliamentarians, representatives of various social organizations, religious scholars, journalists, traders attended the ceremonies.

Mr. Altaf Hussain shed light on various facets of the life of Dr. Imran Farooq, his sacrifices, his struggle, his strong moral fiber and paid rich tributes to him along with offering fateha for him. Mr. Hussain said that there were many who lived for themselves but keeping in view the injunctions of God Almighty and the teachings of the Prophet (PBUH), all other prophets and saintly persons, it became clear that the real aim of life was to serve humanity and sacrificing personal gains for the benefit of all. “He, who lives for others and devotes his life for others, lives in the annals of history even when he leaves this world.” Dr. Imran Farooq was one such individual who devoted his life for the creature of Allah and for benefitting them.

On 16th September 2010 the barbarous murders not only deprived the nation of a genuine leader but also robbed me of my trusted friend who stood by in the times of hardship. “I salute to the parents of Dr. Imran Farooq for the way they brought up their son and handed to the movement, bore the tortuous days of his hiding with patience and courage. I salute to the mother of Dr. Imran Farooq who gave birth to a loyal, brave, patient and noble son who devoted his entire life for the movement.”

Mr. Altaf Hussain said that there was a long history of his 22 years that he spent with Dr. Imran Farooq – a long history that cannot be described in short time. Dr. Imran Farooq was always busy in the welfare of the movement, disseminating the ideology of the party, in teaching discipline to the workers. He remained steadfast in the hours of trial and set enduring example for others to follow. “People like Dr. Imran Farooq take birth in eons. He is not amongst us today but his teachings were manifested in the discipline during the funeral procession in one hundreds of thousands took part but there was no commotion. This is something unparalleled in the history of Pakistan.”

“We want to assure the parents of Dr. Imran Farooq, his widow, his sisters, sons and other family members that the sacrifices rendered by him will always be remembered and a day will come by the grace of Allah when a revolution will of poor and middle class will set in the country and a corruption free system will be established in the country in which all will have equal rights.”

Mr. Altaf Hussain said in a moving tone that everyone was grieved at the death of Dr. Imran Farooq but only he and Allah knew his grief. He asked people to pray Allah to give him courage and strength to bear this loss. He said that he had never hoped that this day would come in his life. He said that he had never thought that he would have to offer prayer for Dr. Imran Farooq in his funeral and Soyem. “I always thought that the workers would continue struggle under the teachings of Dr. Imran Farooq and diffuse the ideology and philosophy of the movement.”

He hoped that the murderers of Dr. Imran Farooq would be arrested one day and met their nemesis. Speaking to MQM workers, supporters and people at large he said, “Whatever is your faith, nationality, religious persuasion, you should struggle for making Pakistan a corruption free society in the light of the teaching of Dr. Imran Farooq and brining honest people from poor and middle class to power. Do not wait for the angles to descend because Allah has clearly spoken in his book that you will have to struggle yourself if you want to change your fate.”

He regretted that some so-called intellectuals always reviled his idea about revolution in their analyses. “These are the people who want to continue with the status quo and perpetuate the exploitative system in the country.” He said that a time will come when these very people will see with their own eyes the arrival of the revolution in the country which will cause the downfall of the privileged class who had usurped the wealth of the nation through illegal and unfair means.

He said that revolutions did not come through mere talks but one has to sacrifice ones time and wishes for the righteous struggle. “Thousands of my workers sacrificed their lives for this struggle. The blood of my brother and my nephew is amongst them. Sons of a number of mothers went missing whose whereabouts could not be found as yet.”

He asked the younger generation to decide which party sacrificed the most for its cause. They must decide if they continue to look up to the IMF and World Bank or they want to stand on their own feet through unity.
