Addresses workers of Mohibbane Pakistan in Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates simultaneously

London-19th November 2005...Mr. Altaf Hussain Founder and Leader Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has said that Muttahida Quami Movement’s political objective is not to attain power but to serve humanity. He said this on Friday while addressing the gathering of workers of Mohibban-e- Pakistan in Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates from London. Mr. Altaf Hussain’s address was heard in Saudi Arabian cities of Ryadh, Dammam, Madina Munnawera and Jaddah in the eastern province and in the United Arab Emirates states of Abu Dhabi, Alain, Dubai and Qatar simultaneously. Mr. Altaf Hussain said that the world is well aware of the biggest ever earthquake in Pakistan’s history on 8th October 2005 and the extent of devastation and ensuing damage caused by it.

This tragic natural disaster caused the Muttahida Quami Movement to immediately begin its relief activities while the MQM overseas units, in America, Canada, Britain and South Africa tried to help in the relief efforts to the best of their abilities while Saudi Arabia and Arab Emirates units vigorously contributed to the relief efforts in cash and kind showing their past vigour. Mr. Altaf Hussain vociferously praised every unit of Mohibban-e-Pakistan in contributing to the relief efforts and prayed that Allah may reward their service to humanity. Mr. Altaf Hussain said that MQM’s workers where ever they might be in the world worked day and night to alleviate the sufferings of the people, MQM’s aim in politics is not to gain power but to serve humanity.

He said there are two kinds of duties owed to almighty Allah and the duty to the people. Human beings tend to serve the rights owed to Allah but not pay attention to their duties towards human beings. If a neighbour goes hungry in that case there is no forgiveness although God might forgive what you owe to him. Mr. Altaf Hussain said that under the aegis of  MQM its social welfare wing Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation through out Pakistan particularly in Karachi and Hyderabad through massive efforts collected relief goods for the earthquake victims and sent to the affected areas and is still being sent. The relief goods coming from America and that collected by Mohibban-e-Pakistan from Middle East countries is being delivered to the affected areas. In this way MQM has donated more than 2.1 billion rupees of relief goods in cash and kind for the affected areas and this process of providing relief goods is continuing to date.

Today hundreds of MQM workers, Doctors, Para Medical staff members and volunteers are busy helping in the affected areas. He said I am proud of my fellow workers who in answer to my appeal, have gone to the affected areas and are working under difficult and strenuous weather and circumstances and continueing to do so. Mr. Altaf Hussain told the workers of Mohibban-e-Pakistan that we are in dire need of cash to meet the cost of transportation. Mr. Altaf Hussain said that workers of Mohibban-e-Pakistan in reference to relief efforts should give maximum donations to British based NGO Sun “Society for the unwell and needy” who are working day and night in collaboration with Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation in its relief efforts in the affected areas. Mr. Altaf Hussain paid tributes to the workers of Mohibban-e-Pakistan for their continued service and stead fastness in the face of difficulties and hardship.
