CONVOY OF CORPS. COMMANDER OF KARACHI AMBUSHED BY THE RELIGIOUS EXTREMISTS AND JIHADIS. 11 KILLED INCLUDING 7 ARMY PERSONNEL
10 June 2004: A gang of armed terrorists belonging to the religious extremists and Jihadi alliance ambushed the convoy of Lt. Gen. Ahsan Salim Hayat, the Corps. Commander of Karachi on Thursday, 10th. June 2004. This attack occurred at Clifton Bridge while the General was en-route to his office. Reportedly 11 people have been killed including 7 army personnel and several wounded in this attack. Heavy weapons including MG (Machine Guns) and explosives were used in this gruesome and barbaric attack. This is pertinent to note that these religious fanatical terrorists are those who made three assassination attempts on the life of President General Parvez Musharraf and involved in massacres of Haidri Mosque, Imam Bargah Ali Reza and during the by-elections in Karachi on 12 May 2004. These religious fanatics have the support of strong and invisible hands of the certain elements of intelligence agencies within intelligence agencies. This is also pertinent to note that these attacks and blood shedding is deliberately being carried out with the objective to hurriedly complete the process of Talibanisation of Karachi in particular and Sindh in general as well as to destabilise democratically elected Sindh Government while elimination of the liberal and democratic segments in Karachi and Sindh province is also part of the Jihadi agenda.
