THE NATION SHOULD OBSERVE PAKISTAN STABILITY AND SOLIDARITY
DAY TO PROTEST AGAINST NATO ATTACK- ALTAF HUSSAIN

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned the unwarranted and unprovoked attack by the US and NATO forces on the border areas of Pakistan and asked the nation to observe Monday the 28th November as the “Pakistan Stability and Solidarity” Day. Mr Hussain denounced the killing of Pakistani troops in the attack. He said this in a meeting with the Co-ordination Committee of the MQM in London and Pakistan after talking to Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik on the telephone.

 

The Co-ordination Committee unanimously denounced the NATO attack in the Mohmand Agency as an attack on the national security and decided to hold a protest demonstration for expressing solidarity against it. Mr Hussain approved the decision and directed to put up the national flag at the houses, buildings and other public places in order to express complete solidarity for the sake of national security and honour.

Mr Hussain appealed to the leaders of all the parties to remove party flags and hoist the national flags and observed the “Pakistan Stability and Solidarity” Day on Monday in order to show that the religious and political parties were firmly united to defend the security and honour of the country. He also directed the MQM workers to take off party flags from everywhere.

 

Mr Hussain said that Pakistan is a sovereign country, and the United States must not assume Pakistan to be Iraq, Libra or any other country. The Pakistani nation will make it clear that it will not tolerate any attack against it national sovereignty and security. 

Mr Malik praised the views and sentiments of Mr Hussain for the security, sovereignty and hour of the country. He said that the bold step of making a peaceful protest for the national honour and security was not aimed at personal projection. A firm message has to be conveyed by hoisting the national flag on Monday that the entire nation was united on the issue of the national security.

 

Mr Hussain said that the whole nation was behind their armed forces, and the people will not desist from any sacrifice for the national security. He said that the MQM gave supreme priority to the national security and survival above party interests.

TELEPHONIC CONVERSATION BETWEEN ALTAF HUSSAIN AND PRIME MINISTER YOUSUF RAZA GILLANI

ATTACK AGAINST THE SOVEREIGNTY AND SECURITY OF THE COUNTRY WILL NOT BE TOLERATED: ALTAF HUSSAIN

Mr Altaf Hussain has had a telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani in which the overall situation in the country and important national issues were discussed. Mr Hussain told Prime Minister Gillani that the attack by the US and the NATO forces on Pakistani check-posts resulting in the martyrdom of officers and personnel of Pakistan Army and serious injuries to many others was highly condemnable.

Mr Hussain said that he and every worker of the MQM express complete solidarity with the government, the armed forces and other institutions responsible for national security. He said that the MQM is observing  the “Pakistan Stability and Solidarity Day” on Monday and the people of Pakistan will prove by uplifting the national flag that they were an honourable and the attacks against the security and sovereignty of the country will not be tolerated under any condition.

Prime Minister Gillani lauded the views and sentiments of Mr Hussain for the national unity and solidarity and said that the step taken by the MQM is the heartthrob of every Pakistani.  He informed Mr Hussain that the government had blocked logistical supplies to the NATO forces and demanded the vacating of the Shamshi Airbase within fifteen days.

Prime Minister Gillani said that the display of national unity in this difficult time would demonstrate that the national was firmly united to defend the sovereignty and security of the country.
