ALLEGATIONS AGAINST THE MQM: PRESIDENT SARDAR YAQOOB

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the MQM has always been with the Kashmiri people, and it will continue to support them in the difficult times that may come in their quest for the right of self-determination. He said this while talking to the President of Azad Jammu & Kashmir Sardar Yaqoob on telephone at the MQM Head Office Nine Zero.

Mr Hussain welcomed the arrival of President Yaqoob at Nine Zero and said that his arrival was a source of honour. He added that there is a feeling of love and affection between the people of Pakistan and Kashmir. He declared that Kashmir belonged to the Kashmiri people and hence no solution of the problem should be accepted without consulting them. Any decision taken without the participation of the Kashmiri people would not be acceptable to the people of Kashmir, and it would not be durable in the long run.  

Mr Hussain assured full support to the Kashmiri people and said that the MQM was with them in their struggle for the right of the self-determination. He praised the efforts of President Zardari for bringing the people of Pakistan and Kashmir closer together. He hoped that the president and the government of the Peoples Party in Azad Jammu & Kashmir would play an effective role in giving the people of Kashmir their legitimate rights.

President Yaqoob strongly welcomed the views of Mr Hussain and added that at a time when nearly 6 lacks Indian Army was present in the occupied Kashmir, the positive views expressed by Mr Hussain for the Kashmiri people were heartening.

President Yaqoob said that Mr Hussain was not only the leader of the MQM but also a great leader of the Muslim world and his views carried much importance.

Speaking about the malicious allegations made by Lord Nazir Ahmed against the MQM, President Yaqoob said that the people of Kashmir condemned the allegations levelled by Lord Nazir Ahmed and the cabinet of Azad Kashmir has declared him an unwelcome personality. He said that he had come to Nine Zero to express the same sentiments. The people of Kashmir are not with any offending personality. They were with the MQM.  

President Yaqoob said that 4 to 5 lacks Kashmiris lived in the province of Sindh and hence there was a strong bond between them and the MQM. He said that Mr Hussain was a national leader. He said that there was much respect and honour for Mr Hussain in our hearts and this cannot be diminished by anyone. He said that the MQM was a patriotic political party and a part of the coalition government in Azad Jammu & Kashmir. He hoped that the MQM and he would work together.
