CO-ORDINATION COMMITTEE CONDEMNS ABDUCTIONO OF MPA ALIMUR REHMAN

MQM MPAs DEPLORE INACTION AGAINST ANP THUGS BY POLICE AND ADMINISTRATION

Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has strongly condemned the abduction and bodily torture of Member Provincial Assembly of Sindh Mr Alimur Rehman by ANP terrorists. Mr Alimur Rehman was passing near old sabzi mandi with police gunmen when his car was forcefully stopped by ANP terrorists. Mr Rehman was held hostage in the local office of the ANP for over two hours.
 

Armed terrorists manhandled Mr Rehman and took away government weapon from the gunmen accompanying Mr Rehman. The C-ordination Committee warned that the manhandling of an elected public representative by the ANP terrorists would not be tolerated under any condition. The Committee warned that if the patience of the people of Karachi gave way under the circumstances, then the government will be fully responsible for the outcome.
 

The Committee demanded to the of Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad and Chief Minister Sindh to take serious notice of the incident and take action against the perpetrators.
 

Meanwhile the MQM MPAs held an emergency press conference in Karachi Press Club that a plot to create law and order situation in Karachi was underway. Addressing the press conference MPA Aamir Moeen pirzada said that Mai Kulachi, I. I. Chundrigar Road, Tariq Road, Empress Market, Pehlwan Goth, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Kati Pahari and Old Sabzi Mandi were being made no-go areas for the citizens of Karachi. ANP terrorists took to the streets at night and resort to snatching of money and valuables.
 

He regretted that the police and other organs of the administration were regularly informed about the felony but it seemed that they had full patronage from the administration. He said that emboldened by overt support from the administration the ANP terrorists forcefully abducted MPA Alimur Rehman and held him hostage in their local office at old sabzi mandi.
 

Mr Moeen said that there was limit of the patience of the people. He stressed upon president of ANP Mr Asfandyar Wali to take notice of the unbridled criminal activities of ANP in Karachi.
 

The MPAs demanded of President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani, Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad, and Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to take severe notice of the abduction of MPA Alimur Rehman. They demanded stern actions against thugs and brigands of the ANP.
