ALTAF HUSSAIN CONDOLES WITH DR A. Q. KHAN ON THE DEATH OF HIS ELDER BROTHER

LONDON: 7TH MAY 2011: 

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has offered his condolences on the death of Abd-ur-Rauf, the elder brother of renowned nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer.  He expressed his sympathies to the bereaved family members and asked them to bear with patience in this hour of grief. He prayed Almighty Allah to shower his blessings upon the departed soul and give courage to the family members of the deceased to bear this loss.

 

MQM CO-ORDINATION COMMITTEE EXPRESSES CONCERNS
OVER A CONSPIRACY TO INCITE SECTARIAN VIOLENCE

KARACHI: 7TH MAY 2011:

Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has expressed grave concerns over a conspiracy to inflame sectarian violence in Pakistan particularly Karachi. The Committee said that the elements wanting to spark sectarianism were manifestly the enemies of Karachi and its peace.

The Committee said that the sectarian violence in the province of Sindh had ended as a result of untiring efforts of the founder and leader of the MQM Mr Altaf Hussain. The Committee lamented those certain elements, which do not like the atmosphere of unity and brotherhood among the people, were conspiring to incite sectarian violence in the city by fanning religious sentiments.

The Committee said that the elements who wanted to divide the people along sectarian lines for their contemptible objectives and destroying the peace of Karachi could not have any sympathy for Islam and humanity.

The Committee appealed to all the people belonging to various religious schools of thought to remain vigilant of the abominable conspiracy to incite sectarian strife in Karachi. They asked the people to be watchful and foil every attempt to destroy peace and tranquility of the city.

The Committee also stressed upon all the religious scholars to promote religious harmony in their lectures and religious gatherings. The religious scholars should play an effective role to defeat the conspiracy by preaching unity and brotherhood.

 

TIME-WORN FEUDAL SYSTEM MUST BE BROUGHT TO AN END: SARFARAZ NAWAZ

MULTAN: 7TH MAY 2011:

Noted test cricketer of Pakistan Sarfaraz Ahmed has said that the revolution of the emerging leadership from the poor and middle class could not be blocked. He warned that the end of the worn-out feudal system and corrupt political culture under the charismatic leadership of Mr Altaf Hussain had become the fate of the country. He said this while talking to a big rally at Ghanta Ghar area of Multan by MQM Lahore zone.

Sarfaraz Nawaz said that the corrupt feudal lords and politicians had looted national wealth and it was because of their loot and plunder that the poor and middle class people were facing basic problems like inflation, unemployment. He asserted that the time-worn feudal system would have to be abolished for the progress, prosperity and welfare of the public.

Later on Sarfaraz Nawaz met with traders and industrialists at the house of Tariq Mahmood who is a famous personality of Multan. He informed them about the philosophy and ideology of Mr Altaf Hussain.

The CD of the public meeting held by the MQM in Lahore “Stabilizing Pakistan” was also shown on the occasion. In-charge MQM Multan zone Idrees Jami, members of the zonal committee and local office-bearers were also present on the occasion.

Earlier Mr Sarfaraz Nawaz was accorded a warm welcome on his arrival at Multan Airport.
