PM GILLANI CONDOLES MR ALTAF HUSSAIN OVER THE MARTYRDOM OF LIQUAT QURESHI

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani telephoned the Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain and expressed his condolences on the martyrdom of MQM leader Liaquat Ali Qureshi. Mr Altaf Hussain informed the Prime Minister that Liaquat Qureshi was not only a former MPA but also a senior office bearer who remained steadfast in testing times. He told the Prime Minister about his concerns over the continuous killings of the MQM workers and the uneasiness of the MQM workers and the general public. He also demanded action against the killers.
 

Prime Minister Gillani expressed his sympathies and gave assurance that the killers of all the MQM workers would be arrested. He said that no leniency would be shown to the criminal elements.  He said that certain elements wanted to harm the alliance between the MQM and the PPP but we would not allow their conspiracies to succeed. He said that the alliance with the MQM would continue at any cost.
 

Prime Minister Gillani has also exchanged views with Mr Altaf Hussain over the current political situation in the country. He also took him into confidence about dialogues with the PML (Q). He again extended invitation for rejoining the federal cabinet. He said that despite the fact that it was not a proper time to talk about at the moment but is our desire that the MQM rejoined the federal cabinet for improving the situation and bringing stability in the country.
 

Mr Altaf Hussain told Prime Minister Gillani that he looked upon the suggestion with due regard and that he would ask the Co-ordination Committee to look into it. He inquired after the health of the younger son of Prime Minister Gillani and prayed for his good health.

 

 

GOVERNOR SINDH CONDOLES MR ALTAF HUSSAIN ON THE MARTYRDOM OF LIAQUAT QURESHI

Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad telephoned the London’s  International MQM Secretariat Office and offered his condolences to Mr Altaf Hussain on the tragic martyrdom of former member of Sindh Assembly Liaquat Ali Qureshi. The Governor informed Mr Altaf Hussain about the steps being taken at the government level for arresting the killers. Dr Ishrat told that he was in constant contact with Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Shah who has assured to take every step for arresting the killers. He also prayed for the eternal peace of Liaquat Qureshi.
 

Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik also telephoned MQM International Secretariat and offered his heartfelt condolences. The Minister said that the killers involved in the murder of Liaquat Qureshi will not be able to flee the grip of the law and they will soon meet their end. He asked the members of the Co-ordination Committee to convey his condolences to Mr Altaf Hussain.
