GOVERNMENT SHOULD IMMEDIATELY CONVENE A ROUND TABLE CONFERENCE OF ALL THE POLITICAL AND RELIGIOUS PARTIES AND ALSO INVITE THE CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF GENERAL ASHFAQ PARVEZ KYANI, CHIEFS OF AIR FORCE AND NAVY; AND THE HEAD OF INTER SERVICES INTELLIGENCE GENERAL AHMED SHUJA PASHA TO TAKE THE ENTIRE PAKISTANI NATION INTO CONFIDENCE ABOUT THE INTRUSION OF AMERICAN HELICOPTERS IN PAKISTANI AIRSPACE – ALTAF HUSSAIN

MQM Founder & Leader Mr Altaf Hussain in his important statement stated that “in the light of the current sensitive and important situation, I have been waiting for a policy and statement of the leaders of the large political and religious parties of the country, however, on their continued silence I could not resist responding to the voice of my conscience and am compelled to present my sentiments and thoughts to my nation.” In his important statement Mr Hussain urged upon the President Mr. Asif Ali Zardari and the Prime Minister Mr. Yusuf Raza Gilani that if they care about the country’s sovereignty and integrity then the Government should immediately convene a round table conference, within 36 to 48 hours, of all the political and religious parties and also invite the Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kyani, Chiefs of Air Force and Navy; and the Head of Inter Services Intelligence General Ahmed Shuja Pasha to take the entire Pakistani nation into confidence about the intrusion of American helicopters in Pakistani airspace, killings Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden and his aides at his residence near the most important Kakul Military Academy in Abbottabad. They must confide in the nation about the truth of the American helicopters action and the Commandos Operation carried out by the Navy Seals; and explains the reason of continued silence and ambiguous statements by the Heads of the Government, Armed Forces, Department of Foreign Affairs and the ISI? The Pakistani nation has always in all testing times supported and sided with the Armed Forces and the Governments that be with courage and bravery and always stood shoulder to shoulder and demonstrated complete and exemplary solidarity with them. However, in the current situation, when almost all the countries of the world are pointing fingers towards Pakistan and its Defence institutions, which is bringing disgrace and embarrassment to every patriotic and well informed Pakistani citizen. The entire nation is grieved on the criminal silence and ambiguous statements of the Government of Pakistan and its intelligence agencies. Patriotic Pakistanis are also surprised and worried that the entire world is not only levelling numerous allegations but also openly protesting against Pakistan. While the President of the biggest super power of the world and other heads of American institutions and officials were very closely and eagerly monitoring the Operation against Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan. Our own Government was busy in oath taking ceremonies and the Prime Minister of the country even in this critical and sensitive juncture preferred to leave the country for a foreign visit! Today every Pakistani is enquiring that the borders of an independent and sovereign Pakistan were violated, attack was carried out resulting in deaths; and the foreign attackers were able to reach safely to their base and the Government and the intelligence agencies remained ignorant of this act. Today every Pakistani is worried and anxious about the safety and security of the country’s nuclear installations.

Mr Hussain said that it is still not too late and the Government and the institutions responsible for the defence and sovereignty of the country should apologise to the nation on their negligence and carelessness. They should also correct and review their previous policies immediately or else tomorrow we will not only be grieving for loss of lives of an individual or a few persons but we might be grieving for our beloved country and recite Inna lillahi a inna ilaihi' raji'oon: (Truely, we are from Allah, and to Him we shall return.) We as a nation then would fall in complete slavery and helplessness. Mr Hussain humbly asked for an apology if his statement might have hurt anyone’s sentiments, however, his statement is that of a patriotic Pakistani and that Allah Almighty is aware of the intent of his creations and also of the truthfulness and falsehood behind such intentions.
