Another senior leader of MQM, Farooq Baig was brutally killed in Karachi

Another senior leader of MQM, Farooq Baig was brutally killed in Karachi by armed terrorists. According the details, Faroorq Baig was on the way for MQM head Quarter Nine Zeero Azizabad from his house in Landhi, when Farooq Baig was reached at the Bagh-e-Korangi area of Landhi, armed assailants open indiscriminate fire on him. He shifted to local hospital but he could not survive.

Farooq Baig was a senior worker of the MQM and had been actively working for the party for over twenty years. He had been sector in-charge of MQM Landhi Sector and at present he was discharging his responsibilities as a member of the Karachi Tanzimi Committee (KTC), a second high profile and important organizational body of MQM.

It is learned that this is second high profile murder of MQM leader in Karachi. Two days ago a former MPA and leader Liaquat Qureshi was also brutally killed in Karachi. Nearly 100 MQM  office bearers, workers, elected representatives and leaders has been killed in  last four months in Karachi whereas 200 MQM workers has been killed in last years.

Mr. Altaf Hussain lamented that the blood of the MQM workers and office-bearers is being spilt in Karachi. He expressed his profound condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family members. He also prayed Almighty Allah to shower his blessings upon the departed soul and give courage and fortitude to the family members to bear this great loss.

Co-ordination Committee of the MQM has condemned the murder of Farooq Baig in the strongest possible terms. The Committee said that the killings of the MQM leaders, office-bears and sympathizers were part of a vile conspiracy to destroy the peace and to tear apart the economy of country.

They Committee said that there was a well-planned conspiracy to eliminate leaders, office-bearers and sympathizers of the MQM but the government was doing nothing to arrest the bloodthirsty killers. They said that the terrorists are striking with impunity and without fear of any action from the government.

The Committee said that the determination of the MQM workers and supporters cannot be broken by such repulsive killings. They appealed to the MQM workers and sympathizers to stay calm and not be provoked by incessant incidents of unbridled terrorism.

The Committee demanded of President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani, Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Governor Sindh Dr Israt-ul-Ebad and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to take urgent steps for bringing to an end the killings of the MQM workers.
