Mr Altaf Hussain Condemns attack on GEO News Office and its satellite van
and threats being made by armed terrorists to cable operators.

MQM Chief Mr Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned the brutal attack by unknown terrorists on GEO NEWS Office and on its news satellite van and threats being to cable operators. Mr Hussain said those who are involved in this attack are enemy of freedom of press and have dictatorship mindset.

 

Mr Hussain called upon federal minister of Pakistan Mr Rehman Malik and said “it is very sad that whilst you are in Karachi to control law and order and are making announcements that you will be taking strong actions against elements who are involved in kidnappings and extortions. Unknown terrorists heavily fired upon geo news satellite van and there news office leaving the satellite van badly damaged and threatened cable operators and cut off their network cables in different areas of Karachi.

 

Mr Hussain demanded Federal Interior Minister Mr Rehman Malik, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Governor of Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad, provincial home minister Manzoor Wassan, IG Sindh Mushtaq Shah and DG Rangers to take immediate action and arrest all those elements involved regardless of the political or religious party they belong to. Mr Hussain also demanded that the political or religious party involved should be banned from all political activities immediately in Sindh.

 

Mr Altaf Hussain also demanded that officials of Sindh government should ensure POLICE and RANGERS provide full protection to all CABLE Operators who are being terrorised by armed unknown terrorists. They must also ensure that police and Rangers should provide full protection to staff of cable operators whilst they re-connect all network cables, which were cut off by the armed unknown terrorists in different areas of Karachi.

 

In the end Mr Hussain expressed his grief towards the personnel’s of GEO news and cable operators and assured full support from MQM to them.
