ALTAF HUSSAIN CONDEMNS KILLING OF A WOMAN IN SHIKARPUR AFTER BEING DECLARED KARI

LONDON: 6TH MARCH 2012:

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has condemned the killing of a 40 years old woman in Shikarpur, Sindh after being declared kari by a jirga. He has demanded that the cruel persons involved in declaring the woman as kari should be brought to book and punished according to law.

The incident of killing of a woman in Shikarpur on the decision of a jirga was reprehensible and a cause of grave concern for the humanity.

Mr Hussain demanded of President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani, Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and the rights organizations to take serious notice of the killing of a woman in Shikarpur by declaring her a kari.Mr Hussain also demanded that full protection should be given to the life, honour and property of the oppressed women of Pakistan and the perpetrators of the unfortunate incidents should be given exemplary punishment.
