WOUNDS OF THE PEOPLE OF BALOCHISTAN MUST BE HEALED: ALTAF HUSSAIN

A CHANGE IN ATTITUDE IS NEEDED IN BALOCHISTAN AND NOT ANY PACKAGE: BABA HAIDER ZAMAN

KARACHI: 3RD MARCH 2012:

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the wounds of Balochistan would have to be healed and the right of the Balochi people on their natural resources should be recognized. He said this while talking to Baba Haider Zaman of Tehreek-i-Suba Hazara on the telephone at Nine Zero.

Deputy Conveners Dr Farooq Sattar, Mr Anis Ahmed Qaimkhani, Mrs Nasrin Jalil and other members of the Co-ordination Committee were also present on the occasion.

Mr Hussain said that the MQM was with the oppressed and downtrodden people throughout the country, including the people of Hazara. The MQM wanted that the new Hazara province should be created according to the wishes and aspirations of the people.

Mr Hussain praised Baba Zaman for waging a struggle for the rights of his people. He also prayed for his long life and good health.

Mr Hussain said that the MQM had presented the resolution in the National Assembly for the creation of the Hazara province. The MQM would not give up its struggle for the rights of the Hazarewal people.

Mr Hussain said that the demand of the Hazara province was the heartbeat of the Hazarewal people, and the MQM supported their demand.

Referring to the situation in Balochistan, Mr Hussain said that slogans were being raised in Balochistan for freedom. It was because the rights of the Balochi people were usurped.

Mr Hussain said that it was the need of the hour to stop calling the Balochi people as traitors and their right on their natural resources should be recognized.

Mr Hussain said that the rights of the Hazarewal people were also being usurped that had compelled them to demand a separate province. If their rights were not given the Hazarewal might as well be forced to think otherwise.

Baba Zaman said that it was the change in attitude that was needed in Balochistan and not any package.

Baba Zaman said that the resolution submitted by the MQM for the creation of new provinces was a major achievement, and the MQM must get credit for it. The MQM had set a fresh trend in the parliament and discharged its responsibility well.

PROPAGANDA AGAINST THE MQM IS BASELESS AND AIMED AT DIVIDING PEOPLE

KARACHI: 3RD MARCH 2012:

Mr Altaf Hussain, the founder and leader of the MQM, talked to Baba Haider Zaman on telephone and warmly welcomed him and his delegation at Nine Zero.

Baba Haider Zaman extended invitation to the MQM for participating in the public meeting being held by the Tehreek-i-Suba Hazara in Karachi.

Talking to the media persons after the meeting Dr Farooq Sattar said that the MQM had submitted the resolution and the constitutional amendment bill in the National Assembly and the Senate for the creation of Hazara and Southern Punjab provinces and the MQM would make every effort to get the resolution and the bill passed in the coming session of the National Assembly.

Dr Sattar said that the MQM would not give up the struggle for getting the usurped rights of the Hazara people. He said that the security and integrity of the country were tied to the creation of Hazara and Seraiki provinces. It was time for the rights of the people to be recognized and granted.

Baba Haider Zaman said that peace in Karachi was dear to people throughout Pakistan. The people of Hazara would continue to work for the progress and development of Karachi.

Babar Haider Zaman thanked for the warm and cordial welcome given to the delegation at the Nine Zero. He brushed aside the allegations of terrorism and bloodshed levelled against the MQM and said that they were unfounded and baseless.
