ALTAF HUSSAIN CALLS FOR PUBLIC HOLIDAY TOMORROW
PEOPLE OF PAKISTAN WANT TO SEE THE SEMI-FINAL MATCH

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has called for a public holiday tomorrow on Wednesday 30th March keeping in view the wishes and aspirations of the people. Mr Altaf Hussain said that there is great excitement and enthusiasm in the public about the semi-final cricket match that will be played between Pakistan and India in Mohali tomorrow and the people throughout the country want to see this thrilling match. He asked President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani, Federal Minister for Education and the Governors and Chief Ministers of all the provinces to declare a public holiday on Wednesday so that the people enjoy the match in their homes.

 

GRAND ALMI MUSHAIRA UNDER MQM HELD IN KARACHI

KARACHI: 29TH MARCH 2011 

A grand Almi Mushaira was organized by the Karachi Tanzimi Committee (KTC) of Muttahida Quami Movement on 28th March 2011 in Karachi at Annu Bhai Park in Nazimabad in which renowned poets of the subcontinent enthralled a huge number of participants with their beautiful poetry. Noted and acclaimed poet Manzar Ayubi presided over the Mushaira while the comparing was done by Rizwan Siddiqui. Deputy Convener of the Co-ordination Committee Anis Ahmed Qaim Khani, members of the Co-ordination Committee, ministers and members of the assemblies were also present on the occasion.

The Mushaira was organized in connection with the 27th Foundation Day celebrations of the MQM. Poets from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Canada and Saudi Arabia presented their Kalam before an eager audience that was very happy at holding of this magnificent cultural and literary event in the city. The names of the poets and their country of origin is as follows.

The audience applauded the poets for their beautiful poetry.    Speaking on the occasion Mr Manzar Ayubi said that the MQM has been organizing such Mushairas in the past as well. He said that besides politics the MQM also promotes healthy cultural and literary activities as well.

 

JAPANESE VICE CONSUL VISITS KKF

KARACHI: 29TH MARCH 2011 

Vice Consul of Japan for Political and Economic Affairs Mr Tsuyoshi Hikita called upon Director Operations of the Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation (KKF) Muhammad Imran and visited various department of the KKF with him including the Nazeer Hussain Hospital and its blood bank. Mr Hikita also inspected the latest medical equipment provided to the KKF by the Japan government. Muhammad Imran informed the visiting guests about the transformation of KKF and its various departments on modern lines with the help of Japan and other donor countries. He told Mr Hikita that the KKF is providing free healthcare facilities to the poor people. Mr Hikita appreciated the services being rendered by the KKF.
