10th APRIL WILL PROVE TO BE A HARBINGER OF REVOLUTION IN THE COUNTRY:  IFTAKHAR RANDHAWA

LAHORE: 28TH MARCH 2011

MQM PUNJAB HOUSE

Member of the Co-ordination Committee Mr Iftakhar Akbar Randhawa has said that the people of the Punjab have stood up for their rights and 10th April would become a day of revolution in the history of the province. He said that the people of the Punjab will prove that they are with the MQM heart and soul. He said this while addressing a crowded Press Conference at MQM Punjab House in Lahore. Members of the Co-ordination Committee Wasay Jalil, Saif Yar Khan, In-charge Lahore Zone Syed Shaheen Anwer Gillani and other office-bearers were also present on the occasion.

Mr Randhawa said that the Minar-i-Pakistan was selected for the public meeting because MQM traditionally holds very large public meetings in which hundreds of thousands of people participate. He said that we have agreed to the new place as the Punjab Government had advanced security concerns for public meeting at Minar-i-Pakistan. He said that it is not for the firm time that the MQM is holding a public meeting in the Punjab. He made it clear that the MQM had held successful public meetings in the Punjab in 90s as well and a big meeting was held at Minar-i-Pakistan in 2006.

He said that the public meeting was being held at continued insistence of the people of the Punjab and hoped that the people will turn out in large number to listen to their beloved leader Mr Altaf Hussain.  He said that this public meeting will prove to be a herald for the coming revolution and will improve the MQM’s position in the Punjab.

He said that Mr Altaf Hussain has been making selfless struggle to free the 98 per cent people of the country from the shackles of the corrupt feudal ruling elite. He said that the revolutionary message of Mr Altaf Hussain has transcended even to the far-flung areas of Pakistan.  He said that the MQM is fast emerging is a leading political force in the country.

He also appealed to the well-to-do people to donate generously for the public meeting as the MQM is the only party in the country that does not have moneyed people in its folds.
