First of all we thank all the journalists, photographers and technicians for coming to attend this Press Conference.
This Press Conference has been called to inform you about the expansion in the organizational structure of the MQM in view of its rapid popularity throughout the country and joining of a large number of professional people from different segments of life.
It is well in your knowledge that the that the ideology and philosophy of MQM Founder and Leader Mr Altaf Hussain is gaining wide acceptance in Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Sindh, Punjab, Baluchistan and Khyber Pakhtoonkhwah. Doctors, engineers, lawyers, industrialists, former bureaucrats, sportsmen, artistes, retired army officers, columnists and intellectuals are joining the MQM in large numbers besides prominent political, religious and social personalities.
The joining of the MQM by in such a large numbers by the poor and downtrodden people, farmers, labourers and those who have played important role in different fields of life and served the country by their knowledge and education speaks volumes about the fact that the MQM has become a symbol of hope for them and they are looking upon the MQM to free the country from the political and economic crises and to bring to an end the corrupt feudal system, perpetuation of dynastic politics and degenerate political system.

The Co-ordination Committee has decided after prolonged deliberations to benefit from the experience of the professionals serving in their respective fields in order to spread the message of the party effectively. Their suggestions and opinions can help in formulating better policies for the welfare of the people. In light of the discussions of the Co-ordination Committee we announce the formation of a Central Council of the MQM today.

The Central Council shall be responsible for dissemination of the message of the Muttahida Quami Movement in the length and breadth of the country. The Council shall assist the Co-ordination Committee in meeting important national challenges and making of important policies. Members of the Council will also play active role in meeting important political, religious and social personalities. The Council shall also play a role in the drafting of electoral manifesto and political programmes of the party and its promotion.

We are confident that the making of the Central Council will augur well for the country and professionals from different segments of the society will feel pride in serving the country by becoming a part of the MQM. We will appeal to political, religious, and social personalities, doctors, engineers, lawyers, industrialists, former bureaucrats, sportsmen, artistes, retired army officers, intellectuals and all other people belonging to different walks of life to come forward and join the MQM in order to give the country selfless, fearless and unembellished leadership to the country.
