ALTAF HUSSAIN DEPLORES KILLING OF MQM WORKER SHERAZ HANIF

CO-ORDINATION COMMITTEE TERMS CALLS IT COMPLETE FAILURE OF POLICE AND ADMINISTRATION

LONDON:21ST MARCH 2011

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has deplored the martyrdom of Muhammad Sheraz Hanif who is worker of Unit 50 MQM PIB Sector. He expressed his profound sense of grief and sorrow over the incident and offered his condolences to the bereaved family members.

The Co-ordination Committee of the MQM condemned the incident and called it complete failure of the police and the administrative machinery of the government. Muhammad Sheraz Hanif was participating in a peaceful demonstration at Teen Hatti over the decline in the law and order situation in the city and a sharp increase in the killings, extortion and other crimes by the terrorists and criminals of the gang war. He died as a result of the firing by the terrorists.

The Co-ordination Committee said that the brazen way in which the terrorists are striking was indicative of the fact that they enjoy complete protection and want to establish terror in the minds of the helpless people. The Committee said that it is the primary responsibility of the police to protect the life and property of the public in which they have miserably failed. The Committee said that is because of the stark failure on the part of the police and the administrative machinery of the government that the people are forced to protest.

The Co-ordination Committee demanded of President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani, Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to take notice of the unfortunate killing of Muhammad Sheraz and take steps against unbridled activities of the terrorists.
