The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain and Chairman Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Mr Imran Khan had a telephonic conversation. Mr Altaf Hussain praised Mr Imran Khan for his dauntless struggle for national honour and self-esteem. He stressed upon Imran Khan to sink the bitterness and differences of the past for making practical struggle regaining the national honour.  Mr Imran Khan lauded Mr Altaf Hussain for his principled and fearless stand on the release of Raymond Davis, drone strikes and the incarceration of Dr Aafia Siddiqui in the United States. Mr Imran Khan said that  the stand of Mr Altaf Hussain reflects the wishes and aspirations of the people of Pakistan. Mr Imran Khan said that the deaths of innocent Pakistanis in the drone strikes are highly condemnable and said that all the national leaders must speak in unison about the unfortunate killings of innocent Pakistanis. He said that the responsible people at the Centre and the Punjab who consider themselves the champions and well wishers of Pakistan are directly to blame for the release of Raymond Davis. He said that these champions left the people helpless in the hour of need. Both the leaders agreed on maintaining contacts on important issues such as drone strikes, Dr Aafia, release of Raymond Davis in order to defend national honour and prestige.

 

ALTAF HUSSAIN PRAYS FOR THE HEALTH OF HAKIM ZARDARI

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has expressed his concern over the illness Hakim Ali Zardari the father of President Asif Ali Zardari. Mr Altaf Hussain prayed for the early recovery and well-being of Mr Hakim Zardari. He also asked the people to pray for his health.

 

 

ALTAF HUSSAIN GRIEVED OVER LOSS OF LIFE DUE TO DUST STORM IN SIALKOT

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has expressed his profound sense of grief and sorrow over the loss of life and property because of the heavy dust storm in Sialkot. He sympathized with the family members of those who died as a result of the fierce storm. He also asked the government to provide relief to the affected people on emergency basis.

 

DELEGATION OF INDIAN JOURNALISTS AND POLITICIANS VISIT NINE ZERO

A representative delegation of Indian journalists and politicians visited MQM Head Office at Nine Zero and met Deputy Convener of the Co-ordination Committee Dr Farooq Sattar and members Mrs Nasrin Jalil, Kunwar khalid Younus Wasay Jalil, Raza Haroon and Syed Mustafa Kamal. The delegation was headed by the renowned Indian scholar, journalist and columnist Kuldip Nayar. The Indian delegation included ex-member of the Indian parliament Muhammad Shahid Siddiqui, Social Worker Sanjay Nehera, Karamat Ali and M.B Kutty from the labour organization PILER, and human rights co Chairman Syed Iqbal Haider. MNAs Haider Abbas Rizvi, Khushbakh Shujaat and Manohar Lal, MPAs Syed Sardar Ahmed, Faisal Sabzwari and Khawaja Izharul Hassan were also present on the occasion. The meeting continued for over an hour in pleasant atmosphere and the relations between Pakistan and India, the overall political and economic situation and the problems being faced by the people came under discussion in the meeting. Both the sides stressed upon the need to increase the efforts to improve the relations between the two countries by bridging the distances.

Dr Farooq Sattar informed the delegation about the efforts and policies of MQM for achieving the rights of the poor and middle class people. The Indian delegation appreciated the struggle and policies of the MQM and suggested the establishment of cultural and social relations between the youths and organizations of Karachi and Mumbai on the lines of relations between the Indian Punjab and Pakistani Punjab.  They also suggested that the citizens of both the cities should exchange delegations in order to improve relations. They congratulated Mr Altaf Hussain and the leadership of the MQM on the 27th Foundation Day of the party. Dr Farooq Sattar presented the pictorial biography of Mr Altaf Hussain and took the delegation on a visit to different wings of the party at its public secretariat.

 

MQM CO-ORDINATION COMMITTEE CONCERNED AT ARREST OF PCS OFFICERS IN THE PUNJAB

The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement has expressed concern over the arrest of nearly two hundred and fifty officers of the PCS Officers Association in the Punjab and has called for redressing the apprehensions of the PCS officers regarding the appointments of officers from the District Management Group in the province. The Committee said that the PCS officers were making peaceful protests in order to voice their resentments and their arrest was unwarranted and uncalled-for. The Committee stressed upon President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani to take notice of the appointments of DMG officers in the Punjab and allay the concerns of the PCS officers. The committee also demanded immediate release of all the arrested officers.
