WOMEN SHOULD PLAY THEIR ROLE TO USHER A REVOLUTION
OF THE POOR AND MIDDLE CLASS: ALTAF HUSSAIN

LONDON: 8TH MARCH 2011:

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement Mr Altaf Hussain has asked women to play their role for bringing a revolution of the poor and middle class people in the country. In a message on the occasion of the Women’s Day Mr Altaf Hussain said that the MQM respects the rights of the women and strongly condemns the black laws that discriminate against them. He said that the MQM is constantly struggling for the abrogation of all the black laws that are a hurdle in the emancipation of the women. The aim of a better society cannot be achieved if the discrimination against the women continues and their basic rights are trampled.

Mr Altaf Hussain said that the MQM is the only party that not only presented a bill for the rights of the women in the parliament but also got it approved after deliberations. He lamented that despite the passing of the bill women in the country continue to suffer because of discriminatory practices because of the prevalent feudal system and feudal mindset. He said that the efforts of the MQM engendered a sense of protection in the women and raise a voice for their rights. He declared that the struggle has now entered in a phase when women should play a decisive role to usher in a revolution of the poor and middle class and wrest their rights by breaking free from discriminatory laws.

Mr Altaf Hussain extended heartiest felicitation to the women and hoped and asked them not to lose heart in the face of burgeoning opposition. He hoped that the struggle for MQM would succeed one day and the women will get their rights.
